Description
About us: We're Em and Shay, a queer couple in our 30s looking for two rooms in a shared house in East London.
How we'd love to live: With people who want to be making a home: sharing a meal, travelling to the protest together, playing a boardgame, working on doing good communication. Ideally a veggie or vegan house, with Covid-conscious and trans-, poly- and neurodivergent-friendly housemates. Keeping things fairly chill. Other people's pets would be a bonus.
About Shay (they/them): I work in higher education, mostly WFH. I am involved in trade union organising and other kinds of community activism. I love learning, listening to podcasts, cooking and baking vegan things, talking politics, running and gym workouts, and fox-spotting. I am also a keen and experienced dog and cat uncle.
About Em (they/them): I'm a literary arts freelancer, WFH, singing in a queer choir and involved in some community projects. I like houseplants, existential chat, river walks/swims, and books. I'm a keen community gardener and some outside space at home would be a megabonus.
More about us: We've been happily living in Lower Clapton for 5 years and only moving cos our landlord is selling up. We could bring some furnishings (including a gorgeous gay velvet sofa) so would like to have space for those if possible - but not essential.
We’re partly looking at shared housing from a values-driven perspective (also because £ ofc): wanting to live in community with others, and possibly thinking towards some kind of co-owned co-op house in the future, with these housemates and/or others.
