Description
Hi, I'm Liana and I'm moving to London in the end of March, by the beginning of April to work as a doctoral researcher/PhD at Goldsmiths; I'm an art historian and new media researcher, and my research deals with early 20th century film culture and the aesthetics of decadence.
Since I'll arrive in London (very first time) in the end of March, I'm actually currently considering:
- a sublet or short let from the end of March for up to a month
- a long term room from the end of April, once I'm there and can decide in person
So if the perfect sublet could be extended into a long term rental later on, this would be the best option !
Since I won't actually need to be present at my office most of the time, I will mostly be working at libraries and archives around central London (Bloomsbury area), but I will also need to work at the Cinema Museum (Elephant & Castle) occasionally.
My most preferable areas are the walkable parts of North and East - Angel, Islington, Dalston, Stokey, Camden Town, Hackney, Shoreditch, but in case of the right place would also consider more Southern parts (zone 1, 1/2). Would want to be in a nice and safe and social area with access to gyms, stores, parks, hang out spots and very nice transit links.
Budget is around £950-£1000 (max) per month, inclusive of all bills.
For the long term room, I'd ideally prefer a furnished en-suite, and a nice shared kitchen and living room with all the necessary appliances. A garden would also be great… :)
I'm very clean, respectful and mindful of people's private spaces, at the same time I'm very sociable and easygoing, and would really prefer to form genuine friendships with my flatmates, bond and hang out together! I'm super interested in film, and the art scene, and very into languages - currently speak more or less 5, working on achieving full French proficiency.
