Artist Moving from Canada

Hello! My name is Avery, and I'm a 24 year old tattoo artist. I'll be moving to Edinburgh at the beginning of May 2026, but I grew up in the interior of British Columbia, Canada, where I also graduated with my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2025. 🍁

I apprenticed as a tattoo artist alongside doing my degree, and now work full time as one in a private studio. I will be continuing to tattoo in Edinburgh, so if you are alternative, or like tattoo culture, we would get along great! 🖤

When I am not tattooing, I am working on my art skills in other ways. I come from a painting background, but am building a portfolio to potentially apply for occassional digital freelance work to make concept art or assets for video games. I love art in every form though, and have a tendancy to want to try it all. I love a craft night, talking about art, and going to galleries.

In my free time I also do photography, with a focus on birds and wildlife. I am not a huge hiker, but if you asked if I wanted to climb a mountain to see a cool duck or old ruin, I wouldn't even think twice! I also like to go fishing when I have a chance. I've waded through many a creek and river in Canada in the middle of nowhere to see what I can get.🌿

I am also a big fan of medeival history, dark fantasy, and anything similar. I'm a dark room with warm lamps, dark green and burgundy, brass hardware kind of person. Obviously this isn't a requirement for anything, but I figured I'd include my taste, just in case anybody also really likes these themes!

I am pretty easy-going and am eager to chat and get to know people if the time is right. However, I also value my alone time and will tend to favour the comfort of my room.
I don't like to feel like I am being a burden to others, so I make an effort to ensure my dishes are clean, and that everything is properly put away after I've used it.

I am not particularly picky, however I would prefer flatmates that are relatively tidy and low-key. I am happy to communicate regularly via text, and to have weekly duties to ensure everything goes smoothly. I am not a huge party person, but love a fun night in, or an eventful evening out every once in a while. If we have similar interests, then I'd be more than happy to indulge in them together!

I am looking for a double room. Furnished with at least a bed would be nice, but not a deal breaker! My budget is ideally £750.
I will be arriving in Edinburgh on the 30th of April, but would be looking to find a place within the first week of May if possible!
