Description
Hi there!
I’m Lutz and I’ll be moving to Cambridge over the summer, likely 15 June to late September for a temporary placement for work. I’m a consultant in the life sciences industry, usually based in Munich, Germany, but spending a couple months in Cambridge to learn from the local team.
A bit more about myself:
Theoretically I’m German, but I grew up in Finland so while I have a German passport that’s more due to its travel benefits than any feeling of national identity. My German friends say I’m Finnish and my Finnish friends say I’m German. I studied in Finland, Canada, and France before somehow ending up in Germany for a job. Now I’ve been there for 4 years and to my utter disappointment, I quite like it.
Having lived in shared flats pretty much my entire student and working life, that’s what I’d like to continue in Cambridge, hence why I’m here. Especially when moving to a new place I enjoy the conviviality and the opportunity to meet new people. I’m looking for a place (and people) with a fun and relaxed atmosphere, cleanliness, and perhaps the occasional common activity. I don’t expect to be working from home very much, if at all, since the point is to connect more with our Cambridge team.
When I’m not working I enjoy cooking, playing squash, trying different wines, board games, and music. If you have a piano that’s a bonus point, can’t very well bring along mine ;) Otherwise, I’m not one for partying, either in the flat or going out. Instead when I invite friends it’s usually for dinner and chill evenings, perhaps some board or card games. I’m always up for adventures over the weekend and I’ll say yes to pretty much anything. I’m also hoping to do some exploring outside of Cambridge, although I don’t know what the options are. Keen to find out though.
I guess a couple more logistics, I’m a non-smoker (and prefer a non-smoking flat), I don’t have any pets (unfortunately), I’ll be moving to Cambridge alone, and I’m rather flexible regarding living arrangements (single or double bed, en-suite or not, room size, etc.). A workable kitchen would be nice though :D
Cheers,
Lutz
