Friendly, easygoing same sex couple

Hi there,

I’m David, looking for a new place with my husband Joe. We’re a same-sex couple who’ve been together since 2002 and are ready for a change after 18 years in the same house in South Croydon. We’re ideally after somewhere we can stick around for a few years, not just a quick in-and-out.

I work in supported lodgings, which is similar to fostering but for young people aged 16–18. I assess and train hosts and manage the staff who support them. It’s a hybrid role, so I’m part home, part out and about. It’s people-focused work I really care about, and it’s probably why I’m quite calm, patient (I like to think!)

Joe has worked in marketing for over 15 years. He’s the calm, sensible one who keeps everything ticking along. He also volunteers with local community gardens, so if there’s a plant within a 10-mile radius, he’ll somehow end up involved.

We come with two dogs, Libby and Dougie. Libby is a 3-year-old Beagle cross whose main passions are sleeping and snacks, and she’s not exactly overthinking life. Dougie (turning 5 this year) is a mixed breed rescue and very much the brains of the operation, keeping an eye on things and quietly managing Libby’s life choices. They’re both friendly, well-behaved, and tend to win people over pretty quickly.

We’re relaxed, friendly, and easy to live with. We like music (a proper mix), travelling when we can, and long dog walks that always take longer than planned. At home we’re tidy, considerate, and more “cup of tea and a chat” than “party until 3am.”

We’d love a friendly, laid-back household where there’s a good vibe. Happy to be sociable and have a laugh, but also completely respectful if people prefer their own space.

We’re looking for a comfortable place to live for a few years and slot in easily.
