Description
Hii, I’m an artist relocating from Bristol to London to start a Fine Art and History of Art BA at Goldsmiths, after having just completed an Access to HE course, so I’m looking for somewhere to call home! Either a bedroom in a friendly shared house or a studio. Ideally unfurnished, but that’s not a complete deal breaker.
Flexible on budget if renting a studio space.
£1000 INCL bills maximum for a room in a shared house.
I am clean, respectful, and tidy. For the past 5 years, I’ve lived in a 4 person houseshare with a rather small kitchen and bathroom; so I’m now in the natural habit of cleaning up after myself straight away/cleaning as I go - when cooking for example. I am very conscious of having clean and tidy communal areas.
I am not a big party gal or a heavy drinker (anymore, ha!) but I still have a very active social life and enjoy a couple pints/glasses of wine here and there, but I am not one to heavily party, host afters, etc.
I am friendly, sociable and personable, but equally, I am one of those people who needs a decent amount of alone time to decompress, so I appreciate a relaxed, quiet but friendly environment very much.
I love cooking (no dietary restrictions) and cooking for others is one of my favourite things EVER and is definitely my love language, and I really want to try my hand at baking soon too, so someone who loves food is a bonus.
My current housemates and I all get along very well, occasionally having drinks together, but usually just catching up over a pot of tea, a shared dinner, a walk together, yada yada, you get the picture! But most importantly we do give each other our own space the majority of the time. This is a pretty ideal setup for me really. I’d like a place that is quiet and residential ideally, but that’s not a deal breaker at all. I don’t mind smokers either, I am an occasional/social smoker myself, but I do not smoke indoors.
I have a just-turned-1-year-old cat, who I found as a very poorly stray in Dalston last August (guess what I ended up calling him, lol.) Though in my current house share, he has free roam of shared spaces during the day, but at night he stays in my bedroom with the door shut. I’ve made sure he hasn’t been disruptive to my current housemates since bringing him home last year, and I will continue to uphold that, but he is definitely a vocal and playful boy, so if you are a cat lover you will adore him! I keep his litter tray in my room only, and clean it multiple times a day or per day at minimum. Have had no sorts of issues with smell etc - he is very well behaved. :-) but of course I am aware having a pet may be a dealbreaker, so I will not be offended if he is.
I’d ideally like to begin letting him be an outdoor cat if the setting was suitable - right now I live on the 5th floor of a flat on a very busy road, so it hasn’t been possible yet.
I’ll be very much focused on my studies as my top priority really. Between studying, catching up with friends, playing with the cat, I really enjoy my quiet alone time where I can read, journal, make art, go down random wikipedia rabbit holes, playing with the cat, etc!
A party house is not what I’m looking for at all. Though sometimes I would like to have my best friend visit and stay every now and then; but she would be respectful, clean, and not disruptive at all. But equally if this is a no; that is not a deal breaker for me and I would completely respect a no overnight guests rule!
Looking forward to hearing from you.
