Description
Hi all!
My name is Gal and I'm moving to Edinburgh this summer to start a Philosophy PhD at the University of Edinburgh.
To fight that new city blues (and free up some coffee funds), I'm looking for a room in a shared flat. Ideally, Bruntsfield, Marchmont, Newington, Fountainbridge/Tollcross, the city centre, or the surroundings of Leith Walk. Basically, somewhere with at least some we-are-not-dead-yet vibe and not so far from George Square that on a cold morning I could pretend that working from home is productive.
Move-in is flexible, anytime between July and September works (just want to settle in before term starts). I’d be happy to chip in the Council Tax if I’m the only student.
I'm 32, male, and a non-smoker. I'll be on a fully funded UoE PhD scholarship for the next three years, so finances are stable. I've lived abroad and in shared flats before and genuinely enjoyed both. I usually work from libraries (and, if I’m being honest, cafés) and I appreciate maintaining a tidy home with open, considerate and friendly communication. Looking to hopefully make a collection of estranged rooms into a shared, welcoming and beautiful lived-in space.
I love hiking and am very interested in literature and the arts, with a big passion for music and live gigs. I’m dipping my toes in yoga when life doesn’t get in the way and recently discovered sourdough breadmaking as a welcome distraction from the academic labyrinth (flour does not send rejection letters!).
If you see a potential for a great match please feel free to reach out :)
