Canadian moving to London August 1st

I don't know London's neighbourhoods yet, but I'll be working in Shoreditch - close access will be valuable to me. Being in a well-connected area is important to me as well, as I'd like to feel like I can easily get to know more than just the neighbourhood I live in. So, location to me can be super flexible.

I'm keen to make new friends, and I would hope to be friends with whoever I end up living with. I do already have friends in London, so don't worry, I won't be dragging at your coat-tails begging you to be my best friend.

I like to keep active and will be bringing my road bike to London. In the future, I'll also be bringing my Skis, and I'll probably be buying a set of golf clubs. Storage is something I'm looking for as a result - a double room to keep this equipment would likely suffice, but it'll definitely be top of mind for me when evaluating flats.

I also like to go out to eat, drink, and dance. Not much better in my eyes than a genuine conversation with a beer in my hands. A close second to that is having a good dance at a spot with live music or a good house DJ (or a warehouse rave).

As a roommate, I'd describe myself as respectful and a good communicator. I'm an independent person who might forget small things here and there, but will always make sure the important stuff is considered. In my eyes, being spiteful or petty takes more effort than being respectful and courteous - I'm going to assume the best intentions of you, and I hope you assume the same of me.

I own a cat back home in Toronto, and sometime in 2027 I'd be interested in bringing her to London, but it's not a deal-breaker to me if you're not okay with cats. I need to make sure I have an appropriate lifestyle to care for my cat before I consider bringing her to London, so I've made peace with the fact that I may not bring her at all.
