Description
Hello! I’m Danielle, a 31-year-old American/British dual citizen moving to London from DC this September to complete a one-year MSc degree at LSE in behavioural science.
I've spent the last few years in DC working in progressive politics, primarily in the advocacy and media spaces doing PR work, and am headed to grad school at LSE as part of a career pivot towards more policy-focused work.
I’m looking for a friendly, comfortable, and clean flat with like-minded working professionals or postgrad students who appreciate a peaceful home environment but also enjoy hanging out, whether that's the occasional movie night in, dinner party, or getting drinks at the pub.
What I’m like as a flatmate:
- I’m friendly, considerate, and tidy — particularly when it comes to shared spaces (I'm a firm believer in a clean kitchen!).
- During the week, I'll likely be busy with classes, but I'm looking forward to making the most of my time in London! I love trying new cafes and restaurants, going to museums, concerts, and theater, and traipsing around the city.
- I’m social and outgoing but also respect the sacredness of down time. Equally happy on the dance floor or binge-reading a fantasy series in bed.
- I grew up in Austin, Texas but visit London at least once a year to see family, so I have some familiarity and network already. Sharing this to hopefully ease any fears that I may require babysitting as a newcomer to the city — I would ideally love to be friends with my flatmates, but I am also independent.
Logistics:
- Move-in date: I arrive in London on Sept 7, but flexible on move-in date. For the perfect spot, open to taking on a lease earlier or staying elsewhere for the first weeks if needed.
- Right to Rent: As a British citizen, I don't have to deal with visa delays (clarifying since I'm technicaly an international student and I know that can get complicated).
- Finances: Fully funded with proof of savings ready to go. I can provide solid references from my current landlord in DC.
I am currently in the US but am highly responsive and available for Zoom viewings at a time that suits you. If you think I’d be a good fit for your flat, I’d love to hear from you!
