Total budget: £1,250 pcm
Description
Hi, I'm Alex, a 24 year old oceanography PhD researcher at the University of Southampton. From September to November I'm on a 3-month policy placement with the Government Office for Science in Westminster, and I'm looking for a double room from mid or late August through to early December.
What I'm looking for: a furnished double with space for a desk, a washing machine, and a kitchen that comfortably fits the number of people sharing. Ideally somewhere I can walk, cycle or take a train to Westminster, so Kennington, Oval, Vauxhall, Stockwell, Brixton, Clapham, Waterloo, Lambeth or Pimlico are ideal. Up to £1,250 per month including bills.
What you get: I'm fully funded, so rent is never in question, and I'm happy to provide a placement confirmation letter, proof of funding, and references from my supervisor and my current landlord as required. I'll usually be in the office, with a day or two working from home most weeks, which I'd do at a desk in my room. I don't smoke, I have no pets, and I clean up after myself.
The dates are firm. I have a PhD to return to in Southampton, so you'll know exactly when the room comes free again. I can be flexible on the exact start date, and I'm happy with a lodger or licence arrangement if that suits you better.
I'm sociable and always up for a shared meal or a pint, but equally happy if the flat is more of a quiet house share. Outside work I like to run, swim, and get out hiking at weekends.
If you have a room that might suit, do get in touch. I'm happy to view in person or over video, and can usually make a trip up at short notice.
