Hi! I'm a 39-year-old professional relocating from London to Edinburgh to start a new full-time role in the civil service. I'm hoping to move in from around 1 August to get settled before my role starts on 9 September, though I can be flexible on the exact date — any time from early August into early September works. I'm looking long-term, and I'm open to either a room in a shared flat or a studio/one-bed if the budget works.
A bit about me: I'm quiet, tidy and easy-going, a non-smoker with no pets, and I'd be a considerate, respectful flatmate - happy to share the cooking space and keep things clean. This would be my first rental, but I'm a joint homeowner in London so I'm used to looking after a place, and I can provide an employment reference confirming my role and salary, a character reference, and proof of income.
What I'm looking for:
• Budget up to £900 pcm, ideally bills included
• Location-wise, my main priority is the commute: ideally within about a 30-minute walk of the city centre / Royal Mile / Waverley Station area, or up to roughly a 45-minute commute by public transport. Areas like Abbeyhill, Leith/Bonnington, Newington, Meadowbank, Marchmont or the Old Town look ideal - but I'm very open to other areas too, so if you think your place fits that commute, please do get in touch!
• Ideally sharing with just one other person (or a flat with enough kitchen/fridge space if there are a few of us)
• An en-suite would be a lovely bonus, though it depends on the flat
I'm still in London so I'd be grateful to start with a video viewing - but I'm very happy to travel up and view in person afterwards if that helps before anything's agreed. Do get in touch - I'd love to hear about your place!
