Description
Hi! My name is Gaurang. I’m a young doctoral student and have recently finished a research engineer stint at Inria, University Paris-Saclay. I’m moving to Edinburgh from India to start my PhD in Quantum Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. I am 24 years old.
I am looking for a furnished room, ideally within walking distance or a short bus ride to the university central campus (preferably in Southside, Marchmont, Fountainbridge, Edinbrugh Old town and nearby areas). My budget is around £700 pcm.
I am fully funded by a UKRI/EPSRC studentship, so my income is highly stable and guaranteed. As a full-time PhD student, I am technically exempt from Council Tax. However, if I move in with working professionals, I am more than happy to contribute to the household's Council Tax bill, provided the total monthly cost stays around my budget!
I am a quiet, tidy, and respectful flatmate. I’ve previously lived in shared housing in India and France, so I know how to share a space properly. I always clean up after myself and respect quiet hours. While I enjoy a peaceful environment for my research, I am also very sociable! I would love to live with flatmates who enjoy occasional flat dinners (I will cook authentic Indian food for you!), movie nights, games or a chat in the kitchen. In my free time, I love cooking, hiking, watching films, and discussing everything from history and politics to science and cricket.
I will be arriving in Edinburgh in September and am looking to move in around Sept 12th. I am looking for a long-term let.
If you think I’d be a good fit for your flat, please feel free to send me a message!
