Description
I'm looking for:
A smoke-free, pet-free flat with basic amenities (beds) and appliances (fridge and a stove/microwave), where I can have my own private bedroom.
My ideal flatmate(s):
Up to three female undergraduate or postgraduate students.
Occassional birthday or festival-centred (etc) parties are cute, but preferably no guests sleeping over every other week.
Quiet and peaceful evenings would be amazing. I love socializing and hanging with cool people, but might be swamped with work occassionally during my PhD and would need time to catch up with it.
Please let me know in advance if someone's visiting or staying over, of if you're going to be away for a few days.
I prefer to cook my own meals daily, though occassional shared meals are nice.
I'll be happy to look after communal houseplants, but I'm not so good with animals.
Please be nonsmokers as I feel unwell from weed, vape or cigarette fumes.
I'm looking for clean and organised roommates who wouldn't put aluminum foil into the microwave, clog up the toilet with sanitary napkin, or leave a mountain of dirty dishes in the sink overnight with flies buzzing.
We will try to split the chores (eg: cleaning communal spaces) and bills evenly. We can cover for each other if we can't do it that week.
Who am I:
Female first year Biology PhD student at U of Bath.
Will frequently shuttle between U of Bath and U of Bristol labs for my research, and might go on spontaneous weekend trips to visit my family. You'll be notified and all bills will be cleared before departure.
My personality:
Sociable, fun-loving and friendly ambivert with a sense of humour. A girl's girl. Loves good food, fashion, music and company. 90% of the time I'll just be chilling quietly in my room, but I can be a bit of a yapper while my social battery's still running.
My lifestyle (guests, sleeping schedule, noise and chores):
Organised, clean and communicative. I'll do the shared chores, put dirty dishes into the dish washer, settle utility bills ahead of time. I'll let you know if I'm away, if anyone is crashing for the night, if there's a package at the doorstep, or if the wifi is down.
Prefer quiet and peaceful evenings during which I can be productive.
Not much of a party animal or clubber and would typically be back by 8PM.
Might burn the midnight oil sometimes, but will stay in my room and not be noisy or disruptive.
Will be busy and working quietly in my room including on weekends, but would love to hang out occassionally (cookouts, movie nights, spontaneous trips, market crawls, etc).
Single and have close-knit friends. A guest might stay over once every 2 months for a day or two, but that's about it.
I'm sober for personal reasons, but love good conversations in pubs.
What I like:
Sociable geek. Biology is my main thing, but I'm also interested in philosophy, sociology, world cultures, politics and current affairs. I love board games and am an amateur sci-fi writer.
Big-time music nerd. I like pop, rock, alternative and world music. I play the violin, viola and classical guitar, and loves to sing. Always up for a karaoke night or impromptu jam. Don't worry, I'll only be practicing during daytime.
