American Moving to Edinburgh Seeking 6mo Let

Hi! My name is Annabel and I am moving to the Edinburgh area in September 2026. I am looking for a short-term let, roughly 6 months (though I am open to 5-8 month leases) as I settle into the city.

I am a recent graduate of Cornell University in America with two degrees in Computer Science; I'm still looking for work in Edinburgh, but I am hoping to find something soon. I have a part-time online tutoring job that will support me in the meantime, and enough savings to pay my rent for this short-term let.

In my free time, I love history/archeology, antiquing, and collecting old books! I am generally more of a staying in person, but I am happy to participate in social events (either hosting or going out) every once in a while. I always make sure to keep common areas clean and previous roommates have described me as considerate and communicative. I tend to be more of a night owl, though always cautious about noise late at night. I don't love cooking all that much, so I will likely not get in your way in the kitchen; in general, I tend to be a very unobtrusive roommate and stick to staying in my room unless a social occasion arises. However, I have had more social roommates in the past and can make an effort to be more social if that's what you prefer!

I am looking for a single or double room, ideally furnished. I am available to move from 26/08/2026 (though I expect to find more openings that start in early/mid September) and have a maximum budget of £900pcm, though I am looking more in the £600-800pcm range. I would prefer to share with females, ideally between 20 and 30 years old, but if you are outside of this range feel free to reach out anyway!

I don't have a car, so transit connections to the city centre are very important to me, especially as I continue to look for work in the city.

I am unfortunately not in Edinburgh and thus not able to tour any properties before 26/8/26. I would love to be able to tour properties anytime after that though! Ideally I would like to be settled into this short-term let by mid September, so any openings in the first few weeks of September would be great!
