Postgrad student seeking quiet room

Hi! I’m Amanda, a postgraduate student from Brazil. I’ll be moving to Glasgow as a Visiting Postgraduate Researcher at the University of Glasgow from late September 2026 until the end of February 2027.

I’m looking for a room for this period, ideally with a private bathroom/en-suite.

I’m looking for a friendly but relatively quiet household where everyone is respectful of each other’s space and routines. I’d ideally like to live with other postgraduate students, researchers, or young professionals.

My budget is around £200 per week.

I’m quiet, tidy and respectful of shared spaces. I’ll be in Glasgow primarily for my doctoral research, so I expect to spend quite a lot of time at the University or studying in my room. At the same time, I enjoy getting to know the people I live with and would be happy to socialise, watch a film or TV series together, or just have a quiet evening doing our own things.

I really like those “alone together” moments — being able to share a space comfortably without feeling that you always have to be social. I also appreciate having my own space and a calm home environment.

I’m used to living independently and would be considerate about noise, cleaning and shared areas. I’m vegetarian, so I’d ideally like to live in a household that’s comfortable with that. I’m also hoping to find an LGBT+ friendly and inclusive home. I don’t smoke, and I’m not looking for a party flat.
