Hi, I am Richard, a conscientious, clean and relatively tidy guy looking for flat or house share due to change of work location.
My ideal rental is with a discreet number of housemates, 2 to 4 maximum; a live in Landlord and bills inclusive situation is great for me. Location is important: I am very happy where I am at the time of writing, but the busy teaching job and long commute is a challenge. Somewhere near the C2C line between Pitsea and Fenchurch St is ideal for me. Ideally, up to 10 minutes' from either Limehouse, West Ham, Barking, Dagenham Dock, Rainham, Purfleet, Grays and beyond. This could be by bicycle / on foot.
I am a teacher and have a contract until 31 December 2025, which will probably extend. It's useful for me to have free, covered and secure bicycle parking within walking distance of where I stay.
I already work long hours so a big commute is not incredibly attractive to me, hence the location.
I have been told that I am very easy to live with: interested in people, friendly yet also discreet, respectful of privacy etc.
My ideal house is with just one other. Or a larger share that would be made up of other non-smoking sharers who live harmoniously, working co-operatively where possible, respectful and mindful of each others' personal space.
For domestic matters, I'd rather chip in for shared essentials etc. and have a cleaner once a week that try to use a cleaning rota; I find they really don't work well for busy professional people.
I like cooking for others and I've enjoyed having shared meals in previous house shares once a week, but this is not essential.
I am also open to being a lodger with a live in situation
I try to to practice for an average of around 30 minutes a day on my guitar, but can do it away from home if it bothers sharers. (I get positive comments, mainly!)
