***NO AGENTS LETTING ROOMS IN HMOs***

Hi there!

I'm Stella, a 30-somethin' woman, recently relocated back to the UK after spending some time abroad to pursue masters-level studies. I'm searching for a place where I can feel at home, as I "find my feet" again in Bristol - the city where I've previously spent almost a decade through my 20's, and kind of fell in love with!

I am currently looking for a job in the green sector. I studied environmental psychology (that's a bit of a 'niche' subject - basically, applying psychological science to environmental issues) so am now mainly looking for purposeful work in a non-profit, government or the like! I'd expect to end up working in a hybrid format, with 1 or 2 days at home.
I consider:
- House-shares (max. 3 sharers; 30+ y. o.)
- Lodging with a live-in owner
- Self-contained (if reasonably priced)

Preference for a large bedroom, or if a small bedroom, use of extra bit of space for a desk, yoga practice and the like. My budget is only an indication, depending on what it is I am renting of course. I am in no rush as I'd rather prioritise fiding the right place. Being said that, it would be nice to move at the beginning of the new year!

It's difficult to look for a house without a lined-up job offer... I hope you can give me a chance, and keep reading. I can, of course, provide references and a guarantee, if required. I will also be in receipt of jobseekers allowance starting in January (I don't plan to spend the rest of my life on benefits, though). Please note that it is essential I am able to register at the property.

You'll notice that conciseness is not my strongest suit, but hopefully by the end of this short essay you will have an idea of whether this could be a good fit! ;)

*A BIT MORE ABOUT ME*

I define myself as a "sociable introvert": I crave connection and am active in my social circles, but I then need to retreat to my own self. I tend to do this at home, so I treat it as my sanctuary. I do enjoy a chill home environment and I'm not the sort who'll have a house-gathering every week, and I'd hope for you to be the same. However, this does not mean I'm anti-social! I like hanging out with housemates, sharing a cuppa, supper or a glass of vino. I do also like to invite a friend over every now and then, and hold the occasional gathering.

🐣 Me at home (and out and about 🐥)
I enjoy cooking, curling up with a cup of tea, practising yoga, reading a book, starting small creative projects which I never get to finish, and taking care of plants, or the garden if there is one! I also do have plenty of hobbies outside the house, nowadays mostly I enjoy partner dancing, nature walks, arthouse cinema and live music. Bristol has a lot to offer in this respect! I am a lover of swimming in the wild, but that's very seasonal (not into the ice-bath, though respect to who is).

👯‍♀️ Me as a flatmate
I can respect another person's space, though am also someone who likes good company and hope to offer and receive a balance of both. I don't shy away from an honest conversation about feelings, but I don't take myself so seriously and can also be a bit foolish at times (and, hopefully, somewhat entertaining). Expect puns and dad jokes. I am quite organised, so you can rest assured that I will keep it clean and tidy, though I won't come chasing after you with a dish brush if you leave your used cup of tea next to the sink. I might even wash it myself! Ideally, I'd like to share my home with someone who cares about sustainability. Though I don't define as a vegetarian, I tend to "eat food, not too much, mostly plants" (Michael Pollan). As such, I would not have an issue with a vegetarian house. When I cook, I will share! Not much of a baker but I will eat cake if you make any...

🧠 Me as a human
I'm definitely neuro-spicy so an openminded attitude towards neurodivergence is key. I am also LGBTQIA+ friendly, and define as bi-curious myself. With me, no need to worry about acting "normal". What's normality, anyway? I very much live in a happy eco-chamber of social progressivism, so you can just be as you are around me and my friends, too. As long as you're a decent human, that's all that matters.

📩 If that sounds like a good match potentially, feel free to message me and we can talk further.
