Description
**Please don't message me if you are a live out landlord, couple, or agent**
Hi,
I'm Ru 👋🏽 I currently live in Forest Hill am looking to move later this year. I've been in the SE area for yonks and would like to move to a new area. I'm open to moving further afield (Brighton, Hove, etc) so long as it's within commuting distance of Central London. I would prefer to live in a quietish area and am not fussed about being in/close to Central.
I'm starting my search early because the rental market is pure nightmare fuel and I really want to find the right home and the right people/person.
Stuff about me - I'm 36 and currently working in events at a university. I work from home 3-4 days a week and occasionally work evenings and weekends. I'm looking for a 12-18 month contract with a reliable option to extend. I'd like a decent sized double room with enough space for a desk and a good stretch. My maximum budget is around £800 (would obvs prefer to pay less) though I'm open to spending a little more for the right place. I'm open to buddying up or moving into an existing share with 1-2 others.
I would love a home that's clean and organised with housemates who are keen to create a nice, warm space and share chores/deal with things together. My current place is not clean or tidy which often feels stressful and isolating, so sharing with others who are naturally inclined to keep communal areas clean and tidy is really important and not something I could compromise on.
Personality-wise, I'm tidy, friendly, pretty independent, on the quiet/introverted side - I like a fair amount of alone time though I enjoy a good cackle as much as anyone else and would like to be friends with the people I share a home with. I like to try cooking though my success rate is pretty erratic and I'm looking forward to try new things once I've settled into a new place, e. g. farm volunteering or other equally wholesome and bucolic activities. I would love to live in a calm and peaceful household without too many people coming and going, and I'd really love to live with someone who wants a home to call their own. I'm not a drinker but not at all fussed if you are.
I'm queer and lefty (no TERFs or SWERFs), and would prefer to live with other lefty types. I would like to live with women and/or non-binary folks only. I don't want to live with men, couples or children. Pets are great and I'd be happy to live with a cat or a small, calm dog.
If this aligns with what you're looking for, please to drop me a line with some info about you and what you're looking for - thanks!
