Description
My basic backstory: Relocated in Jan 2023 (from Scotland) for a job, moved quickly into a large, agency-run houseshare and it's been okay, but really looking for something more homely now, with fewer housemates who are tidier and more my age.
What I'm looking for: either a room with nice existing house/flatmates, or a reasonably-priced 2 bed flat/house if I can find someone decent to share it with. Open to any area within either the city centre or around Sefton Park. Roughly L1, L2, L8, L15, L17 areas, or for the right place/people maybe L6, L7, L13, L16.
Have been paying for a storage unit to hold stuff I can't fit into my existing houseshare, so ideally looking to find somewhere that allows me to get rid of that, so need a bedroom with decent space I can fit a few bits of furniture into, and/or somewhere I'll be made to feel more welcome to use a bit of the communal space for a few smaller bits like a bookcase, kitchenware etc.
Move-in date is negotiable as I am currently in a rolling contract which I'd just need to give 2/3weeks notice on.
Open to buddying up if I find someone I get on well with, so please give me a shout if you think we'd get on ☺️
About me: Non-smoker, no special food preferences (but very respectful of yours; I am probably "flexitarian" - if that's even a thing - so don't usually cook much meat at home). Relaxed, friendly and very good at tidying up behind myself, but not a nag and generally laid-back about bits being left when you're in a rush or whatever.
I work M-F 9-5, in a housing association, not a big fan of WFH, but do the odd day here and there when it's convenient to do so, but wouldn't make that your problem; happy to work from my room if there's space and it's easier for the household.
I like to go to pubs or gigs and events in my time off, and often travel for long-weekends away with friends/family, though fairly relaxed/low-key through the week, but always up for invites to events/trips/ drinks/meals - ideally would like flatmate(s) who wants to socialise a bit from time to time.
My ideal household: Looking to share with a person/people in a similar position and/or with some mutual interests - respectfully, my preference is normally to share with a mixed household, (I accept that that's a very broad generalisation though - based on a couple of not-great experiences with cis-het men - but I would always judge individuals on their own merit anyway). Basically: Must be good, clean, kind people and LGBTQIA+ friendly...anything else is a bonus! Not too bothered about age as long as we get on. Love all animals, had cats and dogs most of my life, so more than happy with pets around the place.
Practical stuff: Hoping to find somewhere for around £400-£600 p/m, inc. bills or £300-£500p/m for rent alone. Happy to split the cost of other shared things like internet, TV licence and whatever other household basics :)
In the house I tend to cook a lot (I have a lot of decent kitchenware I can bring, if there's room), watch TV and films, (mostly comedy), listen to radio (6Music) or records/Spotify (into a lot of music, esp. '60s, '90s, rock and indie). Love a beer or a wine, happy for you to have people round for dinner/drinks/parties (I'm still building my social circle).
Finally: I'm pretty progressive/inclusive/open-minded, feminist but not militant and considerate of flatmates and neighbours, so will be very quiet when needed, but I'm naturally really sociable and told I'm very easy to talk to, so up for hanging out over coffee or beer when people do want to chat...
Don't know what else to cover here (I think that's probably too much already) so feel free to ask if you want to know anything else.
