Looking for room in Manchester area

I am relatively new to Manchester. I was living in France for 8 years up until December. I moved into a place quite quickly qnd the rental was for 6 months, it runs out in July and I am looking to move to a nicer area.
I am into sports (rugby), keeping fit, movies (i have a very large dvd/bluray collection), video games and lots of different types of music, I enjoy socialising but also letting other have their own space, I love cooking and experimenting with a variety of recipes.
I work at the university of Salford
I would like to move into a house/flat and make some new friends, so I would be looking to move into a place where people like to socialise but then I understand that people like their space so I can respect that as well (especially mornings)
