Description
Hi there,
I'm Sebastian and I'll be moving to London to start as a lecturer at City, University of London. I know how hard it is to sift through countless applicaitons, so I'm putting this ad up to introduce myself.
I grew up in Austria and have been living in Newcastle for the last 8 years to do a PhD and work as a postdoc. My research connects sustainable food systems and responsible design of digital technology. I'm excited to start at City soon. This will be a full-time and permanent contract.
Personally, I like to be active, including cycling, running, hiking, climbing, and dancing :) I look forward to explore all the cultural events and art spaces London has to offer. I enjoy fresh and wholesome food, but am flexible with my diet. I like to cook and share meals. I also enjoy gardening and growing my own food. I care about nature and social justice.
I'm sociable and love a good party, gigs, and festivals, as well as chill chats on the sofa and game or movie nights. But I also enjoy my own time and space for reading, sports, watching series, etc. I'm open-minded, respectful, and a good mediator if emotions flare up.
I'm clean and take care of the place I live in. I therefore also look for a well maintained place and a landlord/housemates who care for their place.
What I'm looking for:
* a room in a charming 3-4 bedroom house/flat
* located within 5-6 miles of City University / Angel
* maximum rent: £900pm
* move-in date: February 2025 (there's some flexibility)
Ideal aspects:
* good quality furniture or unfurnished (I've got furniture I can bring)
* hard floors (or very clean carpets)
* natural light
* well insolated
* shared living/dining room
* space for a bicycle
* garden/yard
Ideal housemates:
I'm super easy when it comes to who I live with. I get along with most people :) I think what makes you different, makes you interesting.
I understand that people's needs for socialising/privacy are different and I respect that. Only thing I'd say is that I'd want all housemates put effort in to keep up the space. I love a good house party, but don't want to live in a party house.
I've you live in a place that meets at least some of above criteria and you're looking for a caring and respectful flatmate I'd love to meet you.
