Description
Hi, my name is Zoli. Looking for a studio or a one-bed flat, only for myself, with a start date around late Dec, early Jan. Either in/around London, West Midlands, Oxford, Cambridge or Bath. Open to other university towns as well.
Sorry if I don't reply, I'm very busy.
Both the city and the start date are very flexible. Moving would be ideal around early Jan 2026, but it can be earlier, even now, in Dec. I'm looking for long-term, but I might also be interested in short-term temporarily.
A longer refurbishment has started in my previous house, that's why I've moved to temporary accomodation, and I don't plan to move back when the refurbishment is finished. So, I'm flexible regarding the move-in date.
My budget is not tight, I may pay more for a quality place or for short-term renting. I don't need any luxury, so I'm also interested in places where I pay much less than my budget.
As I work from home at the moment, and I may switch to hybrid office work soon, the place can be in any of the mentioned locations, or around them, but I prefer relatively easy public transport access to London. If the place is in London, then I'd prefer it to be in/around North London, especially in Whetstone or elsewhere in Barnet, or in Richmond/Kingston-upon-Thames, but this is not a must. I'm also interested in other university towns, like Oxford, or the Coventry area, etc.
Here are the ideal characteristics of the place I'm looking for, but I'm flexible:
* I prefer a self-contained studio or a one-bed flat. I may share the washing machine only.
* I don't have a car, so I'd like to get to a bus stop or tube/train station on foot within ca. 10 min.
* The building shouldn't be just right next to a busy road, a railway path, a construction site, or any other place that may produce a lot of air pollution or noise.
* I prefer a furnished place, but I may also consider an unfurnished one.
* Wooden floor would be great, also in the bedroom, but not a must.
* I need some space for a desk (ideally at the window) and good wifi or LAN. I can buy a desk and a chair if you don't have any, I just need some space for them.
* I need a wardrobe in the room for the clothes, and some other storage for smaller items, like a chest of drawers.
I fit into households with people of any ages. Recently I completed a full-time postgrad masters university course, all my groupmates and housemates were in their early 20s, we got along very well. It was a great experience being back in school again. I also get along with senior people very well.
Clean and tidy. An economist, originally from finance and property development, since recently also a medical biotechnologist, now work in the medical business. Often attend conferences on cancer research. Have supported cancer patients and their families. Like being informed about the world, esp. the economy, science and politics. Like travelling in Europe. Originally from Budapest, Hungary. Have been living in London for 9 years.
