Looking for a new place to live.

Hi,

I’m looking for a furnished double room in Walthamstow, or possibly Leyton if it’s close to Leyton Midland Road station. Ideally somewhere with good access to Blackhorse Road.

What I’m hoping for is a home that feels calm, comfortable and well looked after, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I value good communication, personal space, and living with people who enjoy a peaceful home environment.

The room itself ideally would have:

A double or small double bed
Wardrobe or clothes rail and some storage
Space for a desk (which I already have)
Light, bright décor and good natural light
A bit of a sense of self-containment if possible — for example being on a separate floor from the landlord/housemates

In the shared spaces, I’d really love:

Access to a bath
Some outdoor space
A clean, calm kitchen/living environment

A little about me — I’m considerate, tidy and pretty independent. I work full-time in education Monday–Friday outside the home, so I’m looking for a household with a similar rhythm and where people generally aren’t working from home full-time, as I find it helps keep shared spaces feeling more relaxed and balanced.

My background is in textile design, and creativity is still a big part of my life, so if you’re someone who appreciates creative people and a thoughtful home environment, we could be a good match.

Outside work I enjoy walking, dance, music, yoga, film, drawing and travel. I love good food — although I’m probably more enthusiastic eater than expert cook — and one of the things I really enjoy about E17 is the amazing mix of restaurants, cafés and takeaways around the area. I always appreciate a good conversation and warm, easy-going company.

I generally find it easier living with women, though I’m open-minded if the overall feel of the household seems like a good fit.

I’ve been both a landlord and a tenant myself, as well as doing pet sitting and caring for people’s homes, so I understand the importance of trust, communication and respecting shared spaces. I can provide excellent references and I’m DBS checked.

I’m looking for somewhere that feels genuinely homely rather than just functional, ideally long-term if it’s the right fit.

I do also have a car (kept outside London), and I’d potentially be open to sharing occasional use with the right person if helpful, with contribution towards insurance — something that could be discussed naturally if relevant.
