Description

Hi new roomie!

I’m Josh, a 36 year gay guy currently going through a career change as I retrain to become a Psychologist. Looking for a double room in a flat share or to buddy up in the Peckham area.

I’m all about balance, I try to lead an active and social lifestyle but also love a nap and a Monday night salad. I love to run (go to the gym but don’t love it!), keen to join a swimming pool and always looking for the next adventure. Equally I love a drink and a boogie with my friends, very much a night owl over a morning lark here.

I’d say I’m a foodie in the truest sense of the word, a chicken select meal from Maccas gives me nearly as much joy as a home cooked Ottolenghi feast. I love to cook and host, but find the midweek routine of cooking a bit of a chore. In all my previous households I’ve cooked with my flatmates whenever we’re both home - as Epicurus said it’s better to eat with friends than to eat alone because that’s the life of a lion and last time I checked I ain’t no lion!

Living with the right people is far more important than where I live, but that being said I’m not getting any younger and my standards are higher than my uni days. Ultimately I want to live with someone I can call a friend and be in a place I can call home. Life’s tough enough as it is so we should both/all be super happy and comfortable at home.

I try to be as energy conscious as possible at home for both the pennies and the planet and appreciate the same in others (I’ve never used a tumble dryer in my life!)

Last few TV shows I loved:
- Broad City
- Such brave girls
- Handmaids Tale

Wide array of interests:

🏊🏻‍♂️ I miss the ocean and want to get back into wild swimming

🎾 would love to get back into tennis

🔮 I’ll read your Tarot if you ask nicely

But don’t take it from me, hear it from my ex roommate Jen

“I had the absolute pleasure of living with Josh for three years in Bondi. We met through mutual friends, and what started out as just being housemates quickly turned into a soul-mate kind of friendship.
Josh is silly, kind, honest, witchy, just the right amount of naughty, a great cook - though also a proud fan of beans on toast with cheese (he will judge you if you have a jacket potato though. I don’t make the rules).

He’s fun AND funny, but also thoughtful and spiritual. If the walls in our old apartment could talk, they’d tell you those years were full of laughter, late-night tarot card readings and a lot of joy.

You’d be lucky to have him as a housemate. He’ll cook for you (get him to make the Ottolenghi mushroom lasagne), he’ll be a genuine friend as well as a respectful housemate, and he’ll fill your home with light and laughter. Just don’t get too attached - once I move back to the UK, it’s over for you bitches. Josh and I will be growing old (dis)gracefully together.”

Tap me up if I sound like your cup of tea and keen to find my next home 😊
