Looking for a room in Stroud

Hey SpareRoom community!

I’m currently looking for a double room in Stroud/local area. Ideally available from early August!

I am moving to Stroud from Bristol, to teach Geography at a local secondary school. I have just completed my PGCE in Bristol (career change). Previously, I lived in London for 10 years, where I studied (Geography at King's College London) and then worked as both a Sustainability Manager and Mental Health lead for 7 years. I then travelled Europe and Aotearoa/New Zealand for a year - where I worked and volunteered on sustainable projects (forest schools, permaculture farms and eco building). I have also worked as a SEND support for primary children, and have lived experience and literacy in neurodiversity.

A bit more about me: I love being creative in my spare time (drawing, painting, pottery),I also love cycling, running, bouldering, going for long walks in nature, listening to podcasts (Adam Buxton, How to Fail are faves), paddle boarding, watching shit telly, reading etc! I love embracing nature, art, music, good food, coffee and kind people!

I am a yoga teacher, and plan to teach in Stroud- if you enjoy yoga I’d be very happy to do some at home yoga classes with you!

I love to cook, I was vegan for 10 years and now mostly vegan and 100% veggie. I enjoy gardening and have worked on 16 permaculture and food forest farms, so if the flat has a garden I’d be more than happy to help care for it/zhuzh it up!

I’m really excited to live with some lovely people, but also no pressure to hang out all the time - I also appreciate solitude as well as socialising! I’m really hoping for a lovely, harmonious flat-life with good communication (love a good check in heheh).

N. B. I am allergic to cats so unfortunately can’t consider anywhere with a cat (dogs are okay and encouraged!).
