Description

Hello!

I am looking to get a place in leafy North or East London Suburbia around August/September time 2020. I'm looking forward to either joining an existing household or to buddy up and start something new!

Where I’m looking... 🔎👀

The areas I'm mostly looking are Winchmore Hill, Palmers Green, Southgate, Ally Pally, Crouch End, Highgate, Archway and Muswell Hill in the North of town...

...Or Chingford, Wanstead, Walthamstow, Woodford, and Buckhurst Hill in the East.

(Happy to be a bit further in or out of the right place comes up!)

What I am looking for...🧐

The place I am looking for is one with a large room (about 4m x 4m - as I like to have space to sleep, to meditate and work too) with lots of natural light ⛅️☀️)

(I’m open to having two rooms that I could split the activities between too. 💡✅)

Having a place to keep my bike has become really important to me since lockdown as it’s become like my car and I use it every day! 🚲🔓

I’m quite keen to have good communal spaces where I can hang out, as I do like to come out of my room and be social sometimes too, although if the room is reeeeally big, it’s not a dealbreaker.

I’m an animal lover, so I’m open to a house with pets, but it’s not a deal breaker either way. 🐶🐱🦆

I enjoy a moderately social house where (in a more usual world without a pandemic going on) friends can stop by and grab a coffee or dinner from time to time. ☕️

(That said, I’m not really looking to join a party house or a place where people drink heavily or take drugs... I’ve nothing against it, it’s just not my scene).

The practical stuff...

I’m flexible and looking to move sometime between mid August and Mid September.

My landlord is renovating and moving back in to the house where I have my current tenancy and the notice expires 15th September.

It’s not a hard deadline, because I have some friends who’d put me up for a while if the new home wasn’t quite ready by then. 😃🙏

I can come furnished or unfurnished as needed.

I am happy to move in to an existing home share or buddy up for an empty place...

What’s important to me is that I can be a full member of the household and use the house and communal spaces in a way that it feels like it home, as opposed to being a guest in someone else’s home.

About bit about me...😃

I’m a happy, peaceful person, glass half full kinda chap. 🥛

More a day than night person, but do like the odd social gathering and having friends over from time to time. I’m clean and tidy (I’d give myself 8/10 and I’m pretty relaxed about it all!)

I like to cook (mostly vegetarian food) and make smoothies and the like. I’m far from a chef, but I can whip up something delish for the house every so often! 🍲
I like a balance of socialising and having a bit of personal space. For example, I love a bit of post work chatter and a good catch-up, and then typically enjoy some me time and mediation time before bed. I’m also down for the odd Netflix binge! 📽📺

I’m pretty busy with work and with family and friends, so I’m often doing my own thing, but I do like a nice communal vibe and I like house activities from time to time!
I imagine living in a place full of warm happy energy, with things not being taken too seriously and a healthy dose of giggles and chatting about silly things through to the meaning of life and enjoying a playful, exploratory atmosphere.

I really like self development - reading and workshops etc and I also really like exploring spiritual principles as well (I quite like Buddhism, Taoism etc). I’m hoping to be a Coach of some sort one day!
My humour is very much silliness, satire, slapstick and double entendre... I’m basically walking pantomime (hence the hobby!) 🎭😅

What I do...

I work full time as an Agile Delivery Manager (Which is basically a posh job title for a particular style project manager) for Hackney Council.

I love my job and work Monday to Friday 9ish to 5ish.

With the advent of Coronavirus, I’m mostly working from home. I don’t know how long that will be for, but the conversation seems to be that it may become a more permanent arrangement.

I’m also building a coaching and mentoring practice and so that involves working from home too - usually evenings and weekends too. In a year or two, I hope this will replace my Hackney Job.

What I think I’m like to live with...

I enjoy a good laugh and love doing novelty things here and there (carving pumpkins at Halloween, baking during bake off season, Murder mystery evenings, BBQ’s in the summer...). I’m generally very enthusiastic about life!

Socially, I really enjoy going to parks, exploring nature, going to the theatre, spending time with friends, writing, directing and performing in pantomimes and basically finding things to feed my (above mentioned) love of novelty.

I also like to hang out with my little brother quite a bit. He has a learning disability and is probably on the autistic spectrum somewhere, he’d likely visit sometimes and I’d like that to be ok - most people really love him.

I am a gay guy. I’m happy living with anyone as long as they are happy and fully accepting of living with me. 🌈

What I am hoping for the future... 🔮

I’m looking to settle somewhere for a while (I think maybe a couple of years, possibly longer) in somewhere that I love and really enjoy where I’m living as I gently save up to buy somewhere.

I’m single at the moment, but am living in hope that Cupid will favour me one day!

I’d like to be living somewhere that (should I be fortunate enough), it would be ok for a serious/long term partner to stay over occasionally. 💘🤷‍♂️.

Anyway, I’m rambling now... If your half interested, feel free to let me know and we can at least have a chat to see if we think there’s compatibility on both sides!

Well done for reading this far and have a great day!

Ian
