Previous lodgers have stayed long-term as it’s a unique detached house and quiet place with large but cozy rooms, fab location and incredible, south-facing sunny views.
The ideal location to live in Dundee: near the Perth Road shops/eateries etc, green spaces and riverside walks. It’s a 15-minute walk to the train station, V&A & city centre. Also handy if commuting, to say St Andrews.
Large Bedroom with en-suite
The master bedroom of the house with sunny south-facing balcony is on the first-floor of a three-storey modern detached house. Large patio doors onto your own private terrace with fantastic views over the Green, river and Fife shoreline. Chest of drawers and tall wardrobe plus chairs etc. The pics don’t really do it justice - well worth viewing - happy to do an online tour.
En-suite bathroom
Next door is a spacious en-suite with bath, shower and a bidet. There’s excellent hot-water pressure so showers etc are great. Loads of counter space space for your stuff.
Private Balcony
So the bonus here will in having the spacious, light-filled double is you get direct private access to your own large south-facing balcony with fantastic views of Magdalen Green and the river. You can even grow some plants on the balcony. Also great for sitting and sunbathing - it’s sheltered and a real sun-trap. The views of the river, the Green, the sky and light…
Bedroom 2 alternative
I also have a slightly smaller but lovely back bedroom - it’s so quiet and has views over massive gardens full of trees and flowers in the warmer months. It’s currently taken by a PhD student on placement for maybe 6 months. Another option in the future if you want to switch rooms. You’d have access to the spacious bathroom just across the hall.
Kitchen
The shared second-floor kitchen with dining area has views over gorgeous gardens and lots of birdlife and the West End skyline. Everything is here including a microwave, gas hob, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, scales etc and I have lots of pots, pans, utensils, baking trays etc you are welcome to use.
Ground Floor Utility Room
There’s a ground-floor utility room (brand new Bosch washing machine, ironing facilities, drying facilities etc). Solid hardwood flooring throughout the house. Large internal garage with spare fridge, standalone freezer and ample space to store your bike and other stuff.
Privacy and freedom
Sharing with live-in landlord who is on a separate floor - I’m away for freelance work and visit family abroad regularly. Currently a 32 year old PhD student who goes to a lab at St Andrews uni. So you’d have the place to yourself for long periods.
Parking and allotment
There’s plenty of off-street parking space on private drive and around the back - very handy in the West End. I have an allotment nearby so if want to enjoy the space, grab the spare keys and visit, sit outside or in the greenhouse under the grapevine, pick some produce, relax, have a drink/picnic and/or dig and grow your own. Up to you! The grapes in the greenhouse are sweet most years and there’s other veggie produce, berries, apples, pears and herbs to pick too. Just go down there to relax in nature come back with healthy food for the table. The other plots are beautiful too, it’s a real haven. I’ll be planting some stuff then going away over the summer so you can use it as you wish, anytime.

Magdalen Green is just a great place as you probs know - and the house is ideal for a mature student/researcher/professional after a tranquil place with amazing views and near the Perth Road shops and restaurants. You’ve got the Green right on your doorstep and Riverside nearby for a walk/run. It’s only 7 minutes on foot to the Uni, 15 to the city centre/train station.
