Description

Welcome to the Captain's Quarters, a spacious South-facing double which gets the sun in the morning and has lovely views over the park. The room is usually occupied by Russell who is doing a PhD in something to do with plankton and runs workshops about whales and oceans (hence the decor) - he travels a lot and we let out the room when he's away. This time he's off to Antarctica in the new year and so we're looking for someone to join our shared home from the 3rd of January to the 17th February (just over 6 weeks), with the possibility of another week or so becoming available.

The room is £430 pcm, We can't accept couples and are looking for an individual who isn't going to be studying or working from home - I'm afraid we won't be able to compromise on these things but can be flexible on age for the right person. When contacting us please make sure you include details about who you are, your age, your interests, what you do for a living etc.

A bit about us...I'm a part-time Primary school teacher / part-time freelance consultant for local and international charities. The other housemate who lives here is doing a Phd to do with socio-cultural trends in Mexico and South America.

We live in a spacious and light home with lots of room for cooking and communal living. We share food, often cook and host meals together and bake our own bread, but we also live independent and busy lives.

The house has high speed broadband and a Netflix subscription. The drawers and wardrobe will be cleared to make space for your things but pictures and items on the shelves will need to stay for the long-term housemate's return.

At the end of our road is Church Road with a bakery, deli, cafes and supermarkets, the shops 2 minutes walk the other way include a Jamaican restaurant, and we're a short walk from Easton and the pubs, shops and cafes there. We're an 8 minute cycle ride or a 20 minute walk from Temple Meads and are also very near Lawrence Hill Station and the Bristol to Bath cycle path. The number 36 bus runs every 30 minutes or so from our road to the city centre (and back).

Behind the house is Netham Park which is great for jogging and backs onto the River Avon, with the river path quickly leading out towards Trooper's Hill and countryside (including Beese's Tea Gardens for the summer!).

If you're active and sociable, enjoy living communally, but are also independent and have your own life in Bristol then we'd love to meet you.
