Double room, St Werburghs BS2

- - About the room - -
We have a lovely, warm, very quiet double room available to a Monday to Friday lodger. (£450 pcm). We're decorating at the moment but feel free to message us to see when we'll be ready for a lodger.

The room is cosy and warm - newly decorated.. You can see the room with a double bed, chest of drawers but we are flexible about items needed in the room eg a clothes rail, bigger desk and can swap in or out - within reason. :)

We can provide bedding, new pillows and a 15 tog duvet so you only need to bring your own towels.

We have excellent broadband - with boosters to guarantee excellent coverage for the whole house.

The house is well insulated and secure with double glazed windows. In addition, soundproofing between houses is good and we get no noise from the street at night.
It's a very safe neighbourhood.

Though we don't have off street parking, there's free street parking here which is very rare as most of central Bristol is permit parking only. I usually park right outside or a few houses away.

- - The property - -
This is a lovely house, with a long garden, very peaceful with quiet neighbours. We have secure locks, double glazing and hear no traffic noise. We haven’t been here long and intend to fully redecorate and plant the garden, grow vegetables etc. If you like gardening that's very welcome but not a requirement.

The kitchen is very big with a dining table and it opens out onto the garden, so both will be communal spaces. We may put a sofa in the kitchen and will have some garden furniture in the garden soon. Maybe a hammock?

St Werburgh's is very central, one of the areas of Bristol with a real sense of community and feels like a village in atmosphere, while being very central. It's like an overlooked gem, unless you are from Bristol, you may not have heard of it. It has great local pubs, restaurants, takeaways and shops.

We have excellent transport links, a few minutes cycle or drive to central Bristol, M32 (with a slip road by Easton roundabout into Mina Road, St Werbs), A4174 and Filton all near, yet are also in a very green part of Bristol, lots of allotments, a city farm and Narroways nature reserve all minutes away. You can walk to central Bristol, Clifton Gloucester Road or Muller Road taking short cuts.

- - The household - -
Myself and my 23 year old daughter live here but she's planning to move out after lockdown and use her room as a studio/ workbase. But she will be around a few days/evenings a week. (And that's why we'll be doing more work on the house.)

As I work from home part-time, I'm happy to fit in around your schedule so you will have complete use of the kitchen or bathroom (with excellent shower) as needed. So no queues or stress before you leave for work. And you can have the kitchen to yourself when/if you cook an evening meal.

And some evenings will have the ground floor of the house and the garden to yourself.

We are friendly and welcoming - happy to have a coffee/glass of wine/a beer and catch up sometimes but will not intrude at all or come knocking at your door. We're respectful of others and both independent with a lot of interests. Both of us have worked in Events and Festivals so tend to hear of a lot of creative events happening and can recommend places.

Our preference longer term is for someone who needs a room say up to 4 nights and who goes out to work. It doesn't have to be Monday to Friday if you do shifts.

This is partly because we will be decorating and improving the house but will only do this during work hours or weekends.. We will plan work for minimal disruption to you. For example we wouldn't used oil-based paints or do noisy work when you are here.

If you are a smoker, it's not a problem. We're a no-smoking house but you can smoke in the garden.
