Description
Hello! I am moving out of my room in the amazing flat I share with my sister Martha (I’m moving in with my boyfriend) and I am looking for a new housemate to replace me.
The Location:
The flat is perfectly situated in Old Market, 10 min walk to Cabot, 15 min to Temple Meads. Old Market is such a great area, with lots of new cafes and pubs popping up, there isn’t a shortage of places to go for a pint after work, or a boogie in the Old Market Assembly. It is a quick 15 mins to Lidl too, so you are basically in the centre of everything.
The Room:
There are 2 rooms in the flat, and you could have either of them depending on your preference, and Martha will take the other:
The large room is a generous sized double room, with bed, mattress, wardrobe, drawers and a bedside table. It also has an en-suite with a toilet and shower. This room is £575 per month (bills not included) but if you work from home, there is enough space for a desk and you will have complete privacy.
The smaller room is still a good-size double room, with bed, mattress, wardrobe, drawers and a bedside table. This room is £525 per month (bills not included). It isn’t really big enough for a desk so would probably suit someone that doesn’t need to work from home all week.
The Flat:
The flat is modern and bright, with a lovely sunny balcony which was fantastic during lockdown. The flat comes part furnished, but there is plenty of space for any additions you would like to bring (especially plants!) We have brought in some art and our own bits of furniture, so it feels really homely and comfortable. The living area is all open plan, we love to cook and have drinks in there. There is also secure bike storage.
The Housemate:
Martha is 28 years old, working at a design agency in Bath. She has lived in Bristol for 3 years and enjoys going out for drinks and dancing/karaoke. At the moment, you’ll usually find her watching TV, occasionally with some sort of craft project or crochet in her hands. Martha also loves cooking and is a pescatarian.
Ideally the person moving in would be late 20s/early 30s, with similar interests The flat is a calm space so it would suit someone who isn’t after a party atmosphere. That being said, Martha would love to have someone who could be a friend, not just a housemate. She often has friends over for drinks/food but equally enjoys a night in.
The Boring Bit:
The move in date is flexible, from beginning of June – mid July, depending on when suits you and the referencing checks are completed with the agency. The agency is great and has sorted out everything as soon as we have issues. The contract would be signed for 6 months, and then you can review.
Bills are £150 each, but that covers everything including internet, electric, water, council tax with some left over. The flat is really warm so we hardly ever need to have the heating on. We do also have a cleaner that comes every 2 weeks, who does the bathrooms, floors and kitchen. That comes to £50 each a month. Happy for us to discuss not having the cleaner, but it is really nice to not have to worry about having a clean space.
Let me know if you are interested, and a bit of information about yourself: your interests, why you are looking for a room, what you are looking for in a home and when you would like to move in. We can then arrange a zoom call or an in-person flat viewing, whatever works for you.
