Description
Hello! I’m looking for a person to fill a double room in a first-floor flat in Clifton from mid-May. It’s a great location, just off of Whiteladies Road, Close to Clifton Down train station, and UoB.
Important stuff:
· Rent is £600pcm including bills but not council tax (see below)
· Council tax: students exempt (I’m a PhD student and so I'm exempt). Working people would have to pay 75% (with a single-person discount of 25%) of ~ £1,600 per year.
- A deposit of 1 month's rent is required, protected by a deposit protection scheme
· We have a non-live-in landlady who keeps good communication
· I'd like to live with someone fairly chilled out who would be up for occasionally cooking together, having a drink etc in the future. I'm looking for someone respectful and easygoing who also wants to keep home looking and feeling nice. Also willing to water plants when I occasionally go away!
· No smoking in the flat
· I would prefer someone who doesn’t work from home (or at least not 100% of the time, 5 days a week)
· Room is fully furnished
· Not a party flat, having people over for drinks/dinners/small gatherings is fine, but having tonnes of big gatherings isn’t.
- Dishwasher, washing machine, good electric hobs
· Whilst I'm living in the flat (possibly, long term) you, unfortunately, won't be able to add much of your own stuff to communal areas. Most of the flat is already filled with my furnishings/art/plants. The same goes for the kitchen area, there’s room for a few more things but not enough storage for someone with a whole load of kitchen stuff. Previous housemates have shared my kitchen things and it’s always worked well so far.
About me: I’m Oona, I'm a PhD student (26 y/o, she/her) at UoB studying carnivorous plants. I like all the good things in life: walking, good food, good wine, cooking, hiking, diving, art, wild swimming, life drawing, sun worshipping, pub trips, A24 films – you get the gist). I’ve lived in the flat for almost 3 years, making it a happy, colourful, cosy, flower-filled home. I appreciate my own space but also like being sociable, so an ideal housemate would be keen to get along and hang out a bit too.
If this sounds like it might suit you then send me a message. I’ll want to meet potential housemates for a drink, to check we are compatible living together, and the landlady will need to call you to check if the flat fit your needs and would require you to provide one reference from a previous land-person. If interested please send a little bit about yourself. Cheers 🙂
