Furnished double room in cosy and stylish house

The room:

We're offering a furnished double room in a cosy, comfortable and stylish Horfield home.

The room itself is fairly large size with a big window that allows a lot of light in (note it's north facing). The room has a desk for those of you who need to work from home.

It's available for 6 months in the first instance and will then roll onto a monthly contract. There's a strong possibility it'll be available for longer - until spring 2021.

Ideally you'd move in from 8th August.

The house:

We've been lucky to have such a nice space throughout lock down. The house is fully furnished to a high spec. The kitchen/diner is modern, bright and airy and has plenty of fridge and storage space and a range of appliances/white goods. There's a large dining table to enjoy meals on and we have a vast array of cookbooks.

The living and reception room is well-decorated with an array of houseplants, comfortable chairs and a warming wood-burner for use in the winter. We have a smart TV with Netflix and other streaming apps.

The upstairs bathroom has a shower/bath. There's also a downstairs toilet.

In addition, we'd love for you to help us with the allotment we maintain, which is within walking distance from the house. We've made loads of progress this year and are growing kale, courgettes, spring onions. apples and many other delights - largely thanks to having time due to lock down!

Us:

We are two young professional friends (Joe and Rosie). We've lived together since October 2019 and didn't know each other before. At the moment we are both working from home full-time. We've been pretty cautious about coronavirus and want someone who'll be respectful of the current situation..

We both enjoy cooking and have a communal attitude to living. We order a weekly fruit and veg box and tend to eat together (taking it in turns to cook depending on availability). We're fairly active and enjoy tai chi, football, running and yoga.

On the weekends we (used to!) enjoy going to the pub with friends, attending music events, and spending time outdoors. We're fairly busy in the week, but try to chat, watch films/TV and play board games (we've been playing Carcassonne a lot during lock down - perhaps Joe more than others). We try and save the big ones for the weekend.

One of us works in the public sector at a research funding organisation and the other works at an events and production company. We are fairly environmentally conscious (recently we've been making eco-bricks).

You:

We’d like a young-professional that's tidy, sociable and fairly independent. It'd be great to cook and eat together. and for you to get involved in the house dynamic. We'll also consider mature students.

The area:

Horfield is now a very popular area within Bristol and has experienced a lot of growth over recent years. Local establishments include fruit and veg shops, a number of pubs (including the nearby Inn on the Green), cafes, restaurants, Joe's Bakery and a speciality beer shop! Horfield Leisure Centre is a couple of minutes walk away and has a gym, swimming pool, football courts.

The location is perfect due to its access to Gloucester Road. There's great transport links into the city centre and non-permitted parking in the street.

The house is close to Southmead Hospital, Airbus, MOD and Rolls Royce. Bristol Parkway and Filton Abbeywood train stations are accessible by bicycle (10-15 mins) and bus (20-30 mins).

We appreciate there are additional challenges but we can organise video calls and then aim to host an in-person viewing depending on how guidance develops.
