Description

Hi,

As you can see from the photos, I have a lovely double room to rent... to a super-lovely person.

About the bedroom
A spacious sunny room. Furnished with a double bed, desk and chair, chest of drawers, shelves, and plentiful cupboard space.

About the house
Other rooms for lodgers' use are the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. The laundry has a washing machine and tumble dryer. The kitchen includes a microwave and dishwasher. Plenty of food storage, fridge, and freezer space. Use of plates, crockery, cooking utensils etc. included. There is also a walled garden. Plus, there is free on-street parking if you have a car and in-house hanging space for 1 bike.

Bills
The council tax (Band B) and TV license are included in the room price. Gas, electricity, broadband, and water are extra. Minimising gas and electricity usage is always important in my house for low environmental and financial costs. The average monthly cost for the household bills for the past year was £102 per month per person. The bills are a lot less in summer, more in winter.

A bit about me and my other lodger
I am open, friendly, caring, and outgoing. But I also have a busy job and am doing a PhD, and have family in Bristol so spend most of my time involved with those. That said, it is very important to me to get on well with whoever lives in my house. And if I do have the time, I am up for doing social things together, like films, gigs, walks. I am super-organised, clean and tidy. I am vegan/vegetarian and do not drink alcohol.

My other lodger is great :) A trained teacher who now works for a charity supporting young people. We both have busy lives outside of home, so are into having a super-chilled, friendly and quiet vibe at home. Both of us generally work at our places of work. Occasionally we work from home.

Who I'm looking for
A friendly, open person who will fit in well. Is super-clean and tidy, observant and considerate around the house. Especially super-clean and tidy in the kitchen and bathroom. Also, someone who is looking to live in a chilled vegan/vegetarian household or not eat meat in the house. Being environmentally conscious is important too. My house is also only suitable for people who do not drink too much alcohol.

As I am studying hard, ideally, I am looking for another PhD or an MSc student. But I am open to hearing professionals too if you think you are a good match.

Availability
The room is available to view from Monday 8 January and to rent from Saturday 3 February 2024.

I look forward to hearing if you think my place suits.

Best,
Jo
