Description
Hi there got a large double bedroom available in a lovely garden house in one of Bedford’s best location.
The room is very spacious and bright, with plenty of storage. The rest of the house is kept in great condition: a well-equipped kitchen, a modern bathroom (plus an extra WC), and, of course, the garden, perfect for chilling or socialising on warmer days.
The rent is £675 per month , plus a £50 monthly contribution towards bills (electricity, water, gas, and fast internet). Plenty of free street parking is also available.
I’ve lived here for 2 years now and absolutely love it, especially in summer, when we can fire up the BBQ in the garden under the apple tree, which is just starting to bloom beautifully.
If you’ve never lived north of the River in Bedford, you’ll soon discover why it’s such a popular choice. It’s super safe, the neighbours are friendly, and everything you need is just a short stroll away.
Castle Road, it's like Bedford’s little “Soho” :), is only 5 minutes’ walk: think independent cafés, coffee shops, a couple of nice restaurants. 10 minutes in the other direction will bring you to the banks of the Great Ouse River, which is gorgeous for a riverside walk.
Even closer: M&S Foodhall and a local corner shop are 2 minutes away on foot, and there’s a local coffee spot that does a cracking breakfast and lunch, many people say it’s one of the best in Bedford. You’ll also find a friendly Italian restaurant and a gelato place nearby.
Bedford University is 5 minutes away on foot, which is handy if you’re staff or a student, or even if you just enjoy the campus café. The train station is roughly two miles from here, and typically cycle there in 15 minutes, there’s a lovely bike route that takes you right along the river.
If you fancy a bit more action, it’s about a 15-minute walk to 'Fitness First' gym (they’ve got a pool, a sauna, group classes, etc.), plus there’s a cinema, a handful of restaurants, and bigger shops around that area.
For weekend relaxation, Bedford Park is about a 15-minute bike ride away; it’s a beautiful green space with a boating lake and a café. The town centre itself is a 10-minute cycle or a 20-minute walk, you’ll find shops, pubs, restaurants, and everything else you could need.
