AFFORDABLE accommodation offered in Wootton, Bedforshire, MK43 area, excellent opportunity for a Male or Female homesharer who is looking to live in a lovely home.

We are a Not-for-Profit charity in London who run a Homeshare programme, where we find Homesharers who are willing to provide approximately 10 hours a week of help/support and companionship to a householder who has a spare room.

HOUSEHOLDER
A gentleman in his 70’s, lives in a spacious 4 bedroom house with a garden in Wootton, Bedfordshire. He currently has a live-in carer, and family to support him. He spends most of his day in the living room watching documentaries on the television or listening to all types of music. Enjoys anything to do with cars and especially classical cars, he owns a Morgan and is part of the Morgan Motor Group.

He has mobility issues and uses a walking frame for walking and balance, he has a wheel chair for any visits or appointments but prefers to stay indoors. He has mixed dementia, on good days is able to hold a lengthy conversation with good interaction, however, on a not so good day he finds any communication difficult.

The ideal homesharer would be someone who works from home most days who is understanding, patience, is kind, compassionate, caring and can offer companionship at times but space when required. Is able assist with cooking or heating evening meals and accompanying to a dementia group weekly. He would welcome a homesharer with pet.

Family/friends visit frequently they arrange to have a weekly supermarket delivery. He currently has a male tenant living with him to support with any personal care. He has a regular cleaner, and a gardener during the summer period. His family feel that a overnight presence will provide additional support to the live-in carer and extra reassurance for family members.

ACCOMMODATION
Semi detached 4 bed house with off street parking and spacious well maintained garden.
Downstairs large lounge/dining area, office and utility area kitchen, toilet with sink and garage.
TV in lounge
Good WiFi connection
The Homesharer will have a single bedroom with single bed, some storage cupboards, chest of drawers, with a garden facing room.
Separate family bathroom that will be shared with guests and live-in carer.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The room is available April 2024 subject to DBS, Reference and ID checks and after an initial homesharer interview has been organised.
