Hi, Alice and Max (tenants for the past 2 and 3 years) are looking for a new housemate to join them in a 3 bedroom house in Caversham. Up for grabs is a spacious, bright, 3.5m by 3m double bedroom in a friendly young professional houseshare. See below for further details. The room is available from 05/01/2026.
About the House:
The house is located on the quiet Star Road in Caversham, over the road from The Red Cow pub, and is within walking distance of the station, and a 2 minute walk from the local co-op.
The house features: three bedrooms; a communal office room (a desk and comfortable chair); a modern bathroom; a second toilet room; a communal lounge with a large flat screen TV; a modern kitchen complete with a dishwasher, gas hobs, microwave, fan oven, grill, fridge, freezer, plenty of storage, and a washing machine. There is also a garage, attic, and shed for storage purposes.
Parking:
The double driveway and free parking along star road and surrounding areas means you and your guests will never be short of a parking spot by the house.
About Your Room:
Your room is a spacious 3.5m by 3m, overlooking the garden. Furnishings include: a queen size double bed and mattress; wardrobe; drawer set; bedside table; lamp; and blackout curtains.
About the housemates:
Housemate (Alice):
"I’m Alice the resident Northerner. I’m a paralegal training to be a solicitor in Reading. Will either be in the gym, at work or back in my homeland. Very chatty and love meeting new people. Always keen for a movie night and usually will supply the house with baked goods." - Alice
Owner and housemate (Max):
"I’m Max, in my free time I am a musician, enjoy going to the gym, and I am a chartered accountant working in Reading. I’m also a fan of hanging out watching TV or a movie every now and then, but equally enjoy going for a chill day out. Not really a night owl, so won’t be a pain if you need sleep for work." - Max
About you (by Alice and Max):
Well really we are hoping you can fill us in on this. But, we can at least tell you what we’re hoping for! We’re really looking for someone to bring into the house dynamic, not just live with us. We don't really have much in the way of criteria, we are just looking for someone we click with, can hang out when they're feeling social, and at minimum won't kill us in our sleep. We won't be running this as first come first serve, and we will want to meet you beforehand to see if we all get along. If you think that works for you, please drop a message and we can sort out a time and date to have you drop by!
Note: this ad is managed by the co-landlord Max (not the same Max as the housemate, we share the same name). I'm a live-out landlord and ex tenant who moved up north for work. I have left Max and Alice to choose their housemate as the most important thing is to make sure everyone in the house is happy and comfortable living together.
