Description
Come join us in this quality graduate houseshare, in a large Edwardian-era suburban house with real character, and great connectivity by road and bus (more details below).
Key features:
- a good-sized 12'x12' furnished double bedroom, with dual-aspect garden-facing windows and a proper-sized desk and office chair.
- 200MB wired Virgin broadband
- plenty of shared space: a lounge, a dining room/second lounge, a garage for storing bikes, and a very large garden
- plenty of off-street parking
- ample local shops and other services
All the existing housemates are working graduates in their twenties. Postgraduate students and visiting lecturers have fitted in well in the past, as have salespeople and professionals working in Reading, Wokingham, Henley, Burghfield etc up and down the M4.
Buses: the nearest bus stop is a one minute walk along the Shinfield Road, and is supplied by two direct bus routes (3 Leopard and 8). Additional bus routes 9 and 21 run nearby in Lower Earley. The Reading Buses website says journey times are 8 minutes to the University and 22 minutes to Reading Station.
Supermarkets: we have Asda, M&S, a local Tesco and Sainsburys, and other shops all within 1/4 mile, both on the Shinfield Road and at Lower Earley Centre. The Centre includes a library and sports centre, and Reading University's sports facilities up the road are open to the general public (search for "reading university sports facilities"). The nearest cinema is a couple of miles round the ring road at Winnersh Triangle, with ample free parking, or there is a large Vue in the city centre..
The landlord will consider tenancies for less than 6 months, for example for people on short-term work contracts, but the rent would need to be higher at £800 pcm including bills.
The bills are "inclusive" in the sense that £150 of the monthly rent payment goes towards the house's utility costs and Band F council tax. If the actual bills work out higher, a top-up payment may be needed, or if lower, the landlord pays a refund. All costs are fully transparent.
The only other costs are for the shared broadband and a weekly cleaner who cleans the shared areas of the house.
