Description
Come join us in this quality graduate houseshare, in a large Edwardian-era suburban house with real character. It is just 8 minutes by bus from the University and 22 minutes from Reading station.
We have one good-sized 12'x12' furnished double bedroom available. It has dual-aspect windows, a double bed, a proper-sized desk and office chair, the usual storage, and 200MB wired Virgin broadband.
Besides the bedrooms, there's lots of shared space: a lounge, a dining room/second lounge, a kitchen, and utility room, a garage for storing bikes and a very large garden.
All the existing housemates are working graduates in their twenties. Postgraduate students and visiting lecturers have fitted in well in the past, as have salespeople and professionals working in Reading, Wokingham, Henley, Burghfield etc up and down the M4.
There's off-street parking and excellent access by car to the motorway network, Winnersh Triangle, Green Park and other business parks. The house is on two direct bus routes (3 Leopard and 8), and additional bus routes 9 and 21 in Lower Earley run close by. The nearest bus stop at Crosfields School is a 2 minute walk, and the Reading Buses website says journey times are 8 minutes to the University and 22 minutes to Reading Station.
There are plenty of options for supermarkets (Asda, M&S, Tesco, Sainsburys) and other shops, all within 1/4 mile, both on the Shinfield Road and at Lower Earley Centre. The Centre includes a library and sports centre, and it is possible to use the sports facilities up the road at the University. The nearest cinema is a couple of miles round the ring road at Winnersh Triangle, with ample free parking, or there is a large Vue in the city centre..
The landlord will consider tenancies for less than 6 months, for example for people on short-term work contracts, but the rent would need to be higher at £800 pcm including bills.
The bills are "inclusive" in the sense that £125 of the monthly rent payment goes towards the house's utility costs and Band F council tax. If the actual bills work out higher, a top-up payment may be needed, or if lower, the landlord pays a refund. All costs are fully transparent.
The only other costs are for the shared broadband and a weekly cleaner who cleans the shared areas of the house.
