Hi there. I'm looking for a housemate to rent a principle bedroom in my 3-bedroom barn conversion in Wokingham.
The home is part of a 5-home farm site that was converted 3 years ago. It is on the edge of Cantley Park, 15 minutes walk from the town centre and train station.
The home is on one floor with super high ceilings and laid out in an “L shape”. Your room would be at one end, separated by the living space and kitchen, with two others bedrooms on the other side of the property (one is my room and I use the other as a wardrobe room and for yoga). It gives a great amount of privacy for both of us.
Your bedroom overlooks the courtyard, with a King size ottoman bed, amazing mattress and a fitted wardrobe. The en-suite is behind sliding barn doors with a double sink, shower unit to one side and toilet on the other. It’s a rain shower and, another benefit is that I have a water softener which will keep your hair feeling great. The room also has outdoor access into the courtyard.
The living space is bright an open, with a kitchen area and sit up bar, dining table and corner sofa. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a patio on the courtyard side and a garden on the other side, so there is always a sunny spot outdoors.
In the garden, there is a garden room which I used to use as an office and has Wi-Fi connection, should you want a bit of space to work. You can also store a few bits out there and there is space for boxes over on my side of the house.
There is a car port with space for two cars side by side (so no need to juggle cars around all of the time) and there is an electric charging point if you have an EV.
The property backs onto a road so there is a little bit of street noise. I can honestly say it has never been an issue for me or any of my neighbours but I wanted to mention that in case that is important to you.
As you'll see from the photos, I'm a pretty tidy person and like to keep my home that way. My dream housemate is someone who is friendly, kind and thoughtful. I've lived with a few people over the years and enjoy being able to have a bit of a chat in the evenings and then be respectful when each of us wants some space.
Some more stuff you might like to know about me: I love walks, enjoy good food, like most sports (I play golf and watch football an F1), work as an HR consultant, I’m single and straight.
As this is my home, friends and family pop over from time to time but not unannounced. I would always give you a heads up on my plans. If people do come round its mainly my little niece or a friend to watch a football match, and you'd always be welcome to join in.
I haven't put a minimum term for the room but think it would be wise to have a one month notice for either of us to end our arrangement if circumstances change.
If I've left some information out then drop me a note and I can answer any questions you have.
Ultimately, I like to have a happy, relaxing home and would like someone who wants the same.
