A warm, friendly and interesting lady with reduced mobility and memory is seeking a Sharer for their home to give them a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

She would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around her home in the evenings and overnight. She would also like some general practical help around the home such as picking up shopping, cooking (for, or with) and sharing a few meals each week, light cleaning and tidying, a little help in the garden, carrying heavier items, prompts and reminders, and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.

The accommodation on offer is a lovely double bedroom furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and own bathroom. There is shared use of the kitchen sitting room and garden.

The property is in Woodley, a suburb of Reading with excellent bus routes into the centre of Reading. Earley Station is 1 mile away and Reading Station is 3 miles away. There is also a shopping centre 5-10 minutes’ walk from the home.

An ex-primary school teacher, she enjoys cooking, gardening, current affairs, arts, music, reading the New Scientists, watching comedy and sometimes the news and documentaries. She is used to sharing her home having hosted Ukrainian refugees and other guests over the years. She has a partner who visits and stays over sometimes too.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the person’s interests.
