Large Double Bedroom in Homely, Friendly House

My name is Patrycja, and I live with my husband Ian in a terraced Victorian house in the Upper Knowle area of Bristol, right at the top of the beautiful Arnos Vale Park and Cemetery. We also have a good-sized garden.

It's quite quiet and peaceful around here, both at home and in the surrounding area. We are tucked away from the traffic and the city buzz, yet it's only about a half-hour walk (or a short bus ride) to the centre. Temple Meads Station is an easy walk, as are the post office, bakery, chemist and lovely local pub. A large supermarket and other quirky shops, restaurants and cafes of Totterdown are about ten minutes away on foot.

The room we are offering here is the largest in the house and is situated at the top of the building. It's fully furnished with a double bed, a large wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a small cube-style bookcase, and a desk. It is spacious and light.

Next to that room is our second sitting room, which we don't use very often ourselves. It's really only used if we have more than one guest staying, as there is another guest room in the house. So, apart from perhaps a couple of times a year, that room is also practically free for our lodger to use as additional space.

Ian works five days a week, and generally, one of those days, he works from home. I recently pursued my passion for writing and completed a Creative Writing degree at Bath Spa University. I will be starting a new full-time job at the end of September.

After work, we like to relax and unwind. We both love reading and do a lot of this in our spare time.

Our home is our little oasis - a place that feels cosy, calm and welcoming. We have a lovely, large kitchen-diner, which is really the heart of our home. This is where we tend to gather, cook, eat and catch up, and we'd love our lodger to feel at home in this space, too.

We're looking for someone who feels the same way about their living environment and takes pride in keeping their home clean, comfortable, and cared for.

We share our home with a friendly and loving 12 y/o Shetland Sheepdog.

Our current lodger pays £900 a month (including all bills and council tax), and we are happy to offer it still on the same basis.
