Quiet lovely double room £443pm (female wanted)

We are a house of three, looking for our fourth housemate to come live in our big lovely house spread across 3 floors. We’re looking for a female (as we are 2 males and 1 female) and for the long-term. The available room is a quiet double bedroom overlooking the garden, on the top floor. Rent is £442.50 and bills are around £189 on top of rent. The rent is due to go up for all of us by £25 each from January due to our landlord’s insurance increasing (they otherwise don’t have a history of upping the rent), making it £467.50pm plus bills. The room is furnished with a double bed and small inbuilt wardrobe and small drawers, but there is room for more furniture for sure. The previous tenant worked from home with her desk at the window.

The ground floor has a large living room, spareroom/snug, a dining room, kitchen, toilet, storage/utility room (with room to dry clothes for all of us) and a nice sized garden. The middle floor is the chaps’ floor, with their two double bedrooms and own bathroom (which includes a comically sized bath and grand layout which you’re always welcome to use - see pics), then the top floor is for us gals (we want to find a female housemate to keep things balanced!), with our own bathroom (shower bath combo) too. One of us smokes outside in the garden as it’s a no-smoking house inside, so if you smoke you’re welcome to do so in the garden.

The room is available from 2 December but if earlier is needed we might be able to arrange something. We are just off the top of Whiteladies Road (border of Redland, technically north Clifton), leading to green spaces with Clifton Downs at the end of our road. It takes around 30 minutes to walk down to the harbour/centre and very close to bus links on Whiteladies Road and Clifton Down train station. We have parking if needed.

Ruthie (35) is on the top floor too, she works from home 3-4 days per week, teaching online and is also a trainee psychotherapist. She keeps busy going to dance classes, book club and seeing pals in the evening but loves having a housemate to check in with, catch up after the day and help each other out with things ☺️ Always looking for someone to do jigsaw puzzles with in winter too!

Ollie (28) works for the environment agency and is always the first to unload the dishwasher in the mornings 🙏🏼 This boy loves an adventure and is not opposed to taking a couple weeks off work to motorbike across Morocco. If you ever want to spend an evening going for an outdoor swim, casual triathlons or partaking in questionably genius snack pairings, Ollie is your man. Ollie works either from home or from the office depending on the week.

Stu (30) is a television researcher for wildlife docs. He loves to surf but has a slight addiction to collecting and making surfboards. Works mostly from his office in town with occasional Fridays working from home. When Stu is not working, he is either taking friends to visit goats on the Downs or off on his travels somewhere.

As a house, some of us are in and around in the week and up for shared dins and films, some are a bit more busy with work, life and travelling outside of Bristol here and there, but we all love coinciding to do nice house things when we can, and all hope to play board games together more! We all happen to surf as well, so if you ever want to join (new to it or a seasoned surfer!) you’d always be welcome ☺️ we have enough boards and wetsuits.

It’s worth saying we usually have quiet nights mid-week so someone who is also respectful of the house being a calm space, especially during the work week would be lovely. We’re clean and would get on with someone who also likes to have a tidy house. With Christmas coming up we love getting a tree and fairy lights up as well as some Hannukah bits, decorating the house and having a nice roast together. We’re a mixed group of queer and straight and welcome tolerance and loveliness only :) Ruthie is also thinking about adopting a little old lady cat (our current housemate who is moving out to live with her partner has a cat, but has deep cleaned the room!) - so if you’re averse to cats, let us know as Ruthie doesn’t mind not getting one.
