Description
I’m looking to fill the second bedroom in this gorgeous central Clifton village flat which I’ve lived in for 5+years. This is really my home so looking for someone who wants a homely feel and to be a friend! I have furnished it all myself but am definitely open to discussing if you have your own furniture as I don’t mind getting rid of some bits and would like you to feel it’s as much yours as mine. The bedroom comes with a double bed and mattress (these belong to the landlord who is likely flexible about whether you keep them), and some shelves that are mine so optional to stay or go. The location is honestly fabulous. Beautiful period area, feels very safe, and tonnes of cafes, bars, restaurants within a ten min radius, as well as Leigh Woods, Ashton Court & the Downs within 20 mins walk. Literally on Clifton Arcade and very buzzy / alive neighbourhood, but also quiet & peaceful to live.
About me - I’m a full-time Environmental Policy Maker in the Civil Service and love my job. I also love being outdoors / in nature and active, especially hiking & running. Super creative and currently setting up a side business as an artist. Have a painting space set up in the corner of the living room so you would need to be comfortable with that - if you’re creative or sporty too that’d be a big bonus! I have a very full life, my friends are very important to me and am out and about a lot both during the week and weekends. Rhythm of my weekly life often includes a run club or Clevedon swim / sauna. I bob about between London (where I grew up) and Cornwall (where my fam live). Currently single and living the dating life! I work a 9 day fortnight and have every other Friday off. I like to work from home 2-3 days a week and currently do that in the living room because I can, but if you’d prefer a different set-up I’m open to discussing as I could work in my room or at my office full time..
I’m pretty open-minded about who you are! I’m looking for someone considerate, clean and sociable. Ideally you’ll become a good friend, but have your own life going on. LGBTQ+ friendly!
To be upfront - the bedroom available is small. It has room for either a desk, chest of drawers, or small wardrobe but you’d need to choose one of the 3. The room comes with exclusive use of a very large cupboard just outside in the hall which all the previous housemates have used as their main storage for clothes etc. There is also a HUGE attic which is amazing for longer term storage and easy to access.
Bills work out at about £200 but could get them down slightly I think as currently out of contract for internet. Council tax band C.
We clean once a week and alternate the responsibilities for the bigger jobs i. e. one person does the bathroom and the other hoovers / mops. We keep the kitchen clean continuously although chilled e. g. to do washing up at the end of the day (generally don’t leave till the next day but fine once in a while!).
One shared bathroom. Central heating. Dishwasher and washing machine. Communal front garden / courtyard. There is space to lock bikes to the front garden fence. The flat has two allocated parking spaces, although you do have to pay a fee. Less than 20 mins walk to College Green and good bus service to town centre. Tesco Express and smallish CoOp 1 min away.
