Description
About the flat setup:
Hello! My brother owns this lovely 2 bed garden flat in Cotham. I am living in one room, and he rents the second room out. My current flatmate is (sadly for me happily for her) moving in with her boyfriend so I am looking for a new flatmate! I decorated the whole flat myself when I moved in and we recently had the kitchen completely redone so the flat is ready to move in straight away! I have said 3 months minimum to see if we enjoy living together then we can adjust to whatever works best after that. Bills are not included and are around £80 a month each and council tax is band B £88 a month each.
About the flat:
The flat is the garden floor flat with its own front door access. It is 15 minutes (or less) walk to the Arches and Gloucester Road, the BRI, University of Bristol, the BBC and Whiteladies road and about 20 minutes to the city centre. The living room is lovely and big with a nice bay window a big L-shaped sofa, dining table, TV, bookcases, board games, a switch and houseplants! There is a big window connecting the living room and kitchen giving it a very open plan feel while still being separate. The kitchen has induction hobs, oven, dishwasher and washing machine and I also have an air fryer slow cooker, nutri-bullet and plenty of plates and glasses etc that you are more than welcome to use. The bathroom has a bath and electric shower. There is a nice sized garden with a secure shed and a picnic bench (looking forward to some summer BBQs). If you need parking I think we can get a parking permit for on street parking.
About the room:
The room is a smallish double room with two windows so loads of natural light. It is currently furnished but if you want to bring your own furniture instead that is fine too. It has a double bed, bedside table, double wardrobe and chest of drawers (it could also fit a thin bookcase if you wanted it). There is additional storage under the bed, in a cupboard in the hallway and on the bookcases in the living room. I think that will be plenty of storage but if you need more there is loads of empty space in the hall at the minute and I'd be happy to get another wardrobe or more drawers for in the hall.
About me:
I'm a 25 year old maths teacher! I moved to Bristol nearly 2 years ago now from my hometown up in the Lakes. During school term my schedule is normally out of the house at school from around 7:30-4:30 and back in the evenings and weekends. I like to cook and watch TV/read to unwind in the evenings. At the weekendI love exploring Bristol, going for walks, trying new food places, and going out for drinks or to the pub!
What I want from a flatmate:
I want someone that wants to enjoy living together and using the communal spaces not just living in their room and coexisting with me. My previous flatmates and I used to share the cooking and eat together most evenings which I really enjoyed. I do also appreciate having some personal space and alone time and would respect that for my flatmate. I don't want someone that is WFH everyday as I don't want high electricity/heating bills. I also want someone reasonably tidy (I'm not very anal about things but don't want the flat to be gross). Ultimately I just want someone to enjoy living at home with.
I will reply to all messages next weekend (23rd/24th May). I would love to meet you in advance and let you see the flat! I will be around any time the following Thursday to Sunday (28th-31st May) as I'm visiting family in the first part of half term so just pop in the message when works for you.
Sorry if this was very long (well done for reaching the end), but please let me know a bit about you if you think this would be your kind of vibe
