Hello I'm James. I have a bright, airy, furnished, recently redecorated, ground-floor double room available in Downend (but closer to Frenchay village). Easy access to Fishponds/Filton/UWE and M32, with regular buses to town. My place is a detached house with 5 bedrooms of which I let 1-2 out to students and professional lodgers. Presently its just me and my dog (see below). We're in a quiet close backing on to the Frome Valley, with on-street parking reliably available no more than 30s walk on the same road.
The room is downstairs and south-facing, so warm and light through the day. There’s a new desk installed and its a great environment to study and focus or relax after a long day. Bathroom is located upstairs with bath and shower (typically for lodgers only (I have an ensuite)) and there’s a shared W/C downstairs. Communal kitchen with range oven, lounge with big screen, back garden is a lawn and patio. New boiler installed this summer and excellent water pressure. All bills included (except TV licence as I just stream) and a 900mb fibre line installed.
I'm a live-in, sociable, responsible, clean and tidy landlord with a very friendly English Springer Spaniel pup who follows me everywhere. She has the run of the house so you'll need to be okay with dogs, but she’s a big softie and very affectionate once you’re friends. I’m happy to live with males or females looking for housemates that become friends and equally that value their own space.
I'm a civil servant (wfh 1-3 days per week) and love running, swimming, road trips and a regular night out, but equally value a quiet, tidy and civilised home to nest in. I don’t smoke, no drugs and I lead a pretty healthy lifestyle so I only drink occasionally. We’re a 2 minute walk from the Frome Valley so bring your wellies, and I regularly venture outdoor swimming or to the city run clubs for a dash and a coffee, so would be lovely to have a lodger that’s outdoorsy and fancies sharing the occasional meal.
Located close to great walks and local pubs. Would suit someone similarly active, sociable and looking for a tidy, calm environment - professionals or students. Open to dog owners.
