Description
Please note this room is not suitable for students or if you are under 35 yrs of age.
THE ROOM: The room is downstairs on the front of the house. It has a large built-in cupboard/wardrobe. The room is unfurnished and the road outside the house is quiet. The room will be available to move into from January 5th.
THE HOUSE: The house is large, clean, and homely. There is a good sized, fully equipped kitchen, with a range cooker. There is an open-plan dining area, and separate living room area, making the communal space very comfortable for four adults.
We have an upstairs bathroom with a great shower, and a separate downstairs loo,. It’s a spacious four bedroom house. There is also a good size patio garden at the back, and a turf-roofed bike shed in the front yard, with space for three bikes. Smokers are welcome to smoke in the garden, but not indoors.
The house is located close to town (near Easton Leisure Centre and Old Market). We are in a residents parking area, and a permit for one vehicle would be available, or if you don’t want to pay for a permit (~£70) then the boundary to a free parking zone is only five minutes’ walk from the house. We are just outside the Congestion Zone.
ABOUT US: We are 3 adults (1 man; 2 woman). We are all working, 30's/40’s/50’s, and a fairly quiet household these days. We like to keep the house clean and tidy, and we contribute evenly on this, as well as having a cleaner come in regularly.
We like to go on adventures in and out of the UK, go to the pub, festivals and cook. Mainly, we appreciate coming home to like-minded friendly faces. In case you have preferences to live with or without veggies/vegans/meaties, we are meat-eaters.
We have a cat and can’t accept further pets in the house I’m afraid. She is a rescue and was very attached to our last tenant so we are looking for a cat lover who will treat her like the princess she is!
ABOUT YOU: We are looking to share with someone who is friendly, respectful, and easy going. Ideally this house will become your home, not just a place to store your stuff and occasionally bump in to your housemates. We can’t offer the room to a couple full time, but partners/friends are welcome to stay over occasionally. Please only get in touch if you are committed to the idea of sharing with like-minded people, making a home, and contributing evenly towards the upkeep of the house. As we are all in our 40/50s we would prefer someone of a similar vintage.....therefore this room is NOT suitable for anyone under 35 or students..
THE MONEY STUFF: The rent is £390 per month for the room + £140 per month for bills. As the owner-landlord lives here, there’s no agency fees or deposit but we would need the first months rent up front to secure the room. We all pay the same amount towards the bills, and that money covers the council tax, electric, gas, water, internet, and cleaner. We also buy loo roll, bin bags, and cleaning products from the bills money.
Please contact Dougall, Nadia & Claire via this ad, telling us a bit about yourself (100 words or so); who you are, how you fill your spare time, what you expect from a house share, and any other questions you might have for us. It’s important to us to get the right person and balance in the house. Please also include details of when you can move in, and your telephone number. We are planning to meet people over the next few weeks, during the evenings after work, and we'll call you to arrange a time for meeting up. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks.
