Description
Hello! We have a cosy double bedroom becoming available in our lovely home in Hengrove from 5th September, and we’re looking for someone kind, tidy and friendly to join us. 🥰
🛏️ The Room & The Boring (but Important!) Bits:
* Rent is £630, including all bills. We’re considering hiring a cleaner to come in fortnightly that we’d all chip in to.
* Deposit is £630, protected through a deposit protection scheme
* 6-month contract with a lovely private landlord – no agency fees
* The room is a small double upstairs, part-furnished with a built in wardrobe space.
The house has one bathroom, a sunny garden, a garage, and a driveway, plus loads of on-street parking nearby.
The 2, 2a, 376 or 172 buses to town are just around the corner, and there are several big supermarkets about 5 minutes’ drive away. There’s also a corner shop and Esso garage just down the road for late-night snack runs.
Unfortunately, no pets, as we already have a very sweet (and sassy) little rescue cat called Peaches, who firmly believes she should be the only animal in the house. She’s a big part of the home and super cuddly once she knows you. I sometimes go away for a couple of days, so someone who might be happy to pop her food down and shut her in at night on occasion would be an amazing bonus!
🎨 A Bit About Us:
We’re Sophie (27), Sophie (25) (there are two of us!), and El (24). El works 50/50 between the council and the NHS, Sophie (24) works in marketing, and I work in film and tv.
We’re arty, cosy types who love our home to be a calm and welcoming space. We’re all good pals, and while we do love the odd kitchen boogie or garden drink, we’re definitely not a party house. We’d love someone who’s also sociable and creative, but equally values a peaceful home life and a lot of time yapping in the garden.
None of us are super anal about cleaning, but we’d really like to live with someone who is happy to do their bit when it comes to shared house jobs, and who takes pride in keeping our home clean, tidy and a nice space to come back to after work. We’re looking for someone who is considerate of the people they live with, happy to chip in with shared household essentials, and naturally takes responsibility for things that need doing.
We also have a lot of houseplants, and I’m really into gardening — so if you’re a fellow plant lover, you’ll fit right in!
🌙 A Quick Note on House Rhythms:
As the available room is right next to mine, it would be ideal to live with someone whose schedule is fairly similar — I’m usually up at 6am for work, so I head to bed pretty early during the week. It’s totally fine to have a life and have friends over (we all do!) but someone who regularly comes in loudly late at night on weekdays probably wouldn’t be the best match 😊
💌 Who We’re Looking For:
Someone who’s clean, considerate, up for sharing house responsibilities, and ideally looking to be more than just a stranger passing through. We really want someone who'll treat this place like a home and enjoy living here as much as we do.
If this sounds like your kind of space, drop me a message with a little info about you — we’d love to hear from you! 🌱
