Description
£600 pcm/140 pw (bills included)
One month’s deposit in advance for long stays (less for shorter) • References required
We’re a fun, creative, calm household with a cat, looking for a lodger for a large double room in Kingswood. Open to a long-term housemate or shorter stays, inc. part-time/Monday-Friday lets.
Location:
A 15-minute walk from St George’s Park. Opposite a newsagent, with a Polish supermarket, Fish and Chip Shop, and a great pub with a beer garden on our short stretch of road. Co-Op 5 minutes away. Excellent bus links (41, 42, 43) straight into town and down to the waterfront. So, all in all, a pretty convenient spot to live.
The Room & House:
The room is a bright, cosy double with a comfortable bed, natural light, and a desk for remote work. The house is a 3-bed with a shared living room, kitchen, and bathroom (bath+shower), and a very long (currently wild) garden. Comfortable and lived-in, with a few cosmetic bits in need of a lick of paint. Fast-wifi.
About us:
We’re a married couple in our mid-30s — Rowan (software engineer) and me (podcast producer) — plus our tuxedo cat, Bean. We’re creative homebodies who love video and board games, watching TV/films (both high brow & trashy guilty pleasures), D&D, writing, painting, gigs, etc. We have a lovely, welcoming local circle of friends and enjoy low-key socialising; this year has included a sea swim, planned karaoke, and even building a robot for mini robot wars. We also run a very unserious pub quiz team at the pub across the road — Parsnip Jones & the Roughriders — which meets every other week or so, and you’d be very welcome to join. Overall, the house is social but relaxed: cosy, calm, and generally quiet.
Looking for Someone:
Kind, easy-going, and friendly. Happy to chat or share a meal now and then, but no pressure. Non-smoking household (garden smoking is fine). LGBTQ-friendly, any gender welcome. Artist-friendly too — the room can double as a small creative space, as long as it’s low-noise and well cared for. I work from home, and Rowan is hybrid, so daytime quiet is sometimes needed.
If you’re interested, get in touch and tell us a bit about yourself — we’d love to hear from you.
