Long Description:

Looking for someone to occupy the second bedroom of my two-bedroom flat for a mid- to long-term period. The flat is situated in a quiet, residential part of Knowle with several nearby amenities and good public transport links. This area also boasts an abundance of green spaces, such as Arno’s Court, Perrett Park, Callington Road Nature Reserve, and Conham River Park.

As the flat is sandwiched between two floors, it is well insulated, and we seldom need to turn on the heating. If needed, however, all rooms are fitted with high-power electric radiators. In terms of storage, there is a wardrobe and chest of drawers as well as ample space under the bed. There is also space to add a desk to the room if needed for working or studying from home. Attached to the bedroom is an en-suite for your exclusive use, with a shower and a cabinet.

Facing eastward, the bedroom window catches the morning sun. There is a communal garden area in front of the property, where the neighbours often have picnics when the weather is good. We also get a nice dawn chorus, due to the presence of a few large trees and bird feeders near the garden.

Cleanliness and hygiene are important to me, and I expect lodgers to treat the apartment with the same respect as they would their own home. My previous lodger and I operated on a system of leaving things as we found them, e. g., washing up after meals, which worked well and is something I would like to continue. Common consumable essentials, such as washing powder and washing up liquid, will be split between us. We will also split responsibility for cleaning communal areas on a monthly basis.

About Me:

I am a twenty-eight-year-old working professional and competitive swimmer. I spend most of my time preparing for or engaging in swim training. I also enjoy reading, playing the guitar, and taking weekend trips away. I am social and occasionally have nights out but am not a party animal.

I take a lot of pride in my flat and, since purchasing it two years ago, have invested in several renovations, including a new engineered wood floor in the entrance and corridor. I will be upgrading various aspects of the apartment in the future as well.

As opposed to rented accommodation with an external landlord, I am a live-in landlord and am not only directly responsible for ensuring that all facilities are in proper working order but also invested in doing so, as they affect me as well. Therefore, issues tend to get resolved more quickly.
