Room available in big, bright Montpelier home

Hello! We are looking for a new housemate in our lovely, spacious and bright home in Montpelier. We are a house of 5 already and we're a friendly and active group who love to spend time together hiking, gigging, festivalling etc, but also live our own independent lives.

We are looking for the right person - someone who is happy to share in chores, cooking, and tending to our beautiful garden shared with our neighbours! We try to eat communally as often as possible, and friends and neighbours are always welcome. Bottom line - this is not a private room in a large house, you are coming into a shared and social home.

The house is also part of a larger community of another house and five flats. We all share a garden & front courtyard and try to get together now and again for garden days, pot lucks or just general hanging out.

The room is downstairs and has a sun roof & double doors which open out to a small shared alleyway just below the garden.

We also have a friendly cat called Cwtch who we all chip in to buy food for.

It is approx. £80/90 for bills (Council Tax band D) and we're looking for someone to move in on the 1st of February.

A bit about each one of us:

Mailies (she/her) - bad art maker and enthusiast, works in charity comms but would rather be bopping about the great outdoors, loves a good boogie

Oscar (he/him) - working in the environmental sector and loves being in the outdoors. Always keen for a surf, a mid-week climb, or any kind of adventure

Kate (she/her) - a queer foodie who loves being outside, travelling & cold water swimming. Happiest when catching up with pals over a cup of tea or boogying at a festival. Currently working as a cafe manager but attempting to become a proper chef…

Shukti (they/them) - works across the events sector. They aspire to be many things they’re not right now; more creative, musical and outdoorsy amongst them, but as it stands, when life allows, they love a night out on the dance floor or a night in watching Arsenal from the couch.

I go by T, Taye or Taylor (he/they) … but never Tay Tay. I got a big butt and a bad attitude. I enjoy chaos and solitude paired with peace and an abundance of company. I sell my body at a day rate to climb and cut trees down for people, so I’m always outside and often soggy, sometimes from sweat, sometimes from rain … sometimes both ! Love stinky pints in stinkier venues.
