Description
Hello to all reading.
We are looking for someone to fill the remaining room in our shared house in Montpelier.
Situation info:
We currently are two boys two girls, that have been living together for a few years. However both the girls are moving to different cities, and around September, One of the spare rooms on my floor is being taken by me for an office / guest bedroom so the other one is becoming available.
About the house:
The house Itself is large terraced house on Richmond Road (same road as the Cadbury pub if you know it) and although Georgian in facade it is actually a relatively modern build, meaning that the insulation and energy efficiency is actually better than a typical Georgian / Victorian house.
The house itself has a large grassy front garden with bench morning coffee / evening sitting area, a vestibule for coats and where we keep the recycling leading to a moderately sized kitchen, a downstairs hallway, a large living room with some bookshelves and storage space, a grassy back garden with outside shed storage. A pantry area, and a downstairs toilet.
Upstairs there a bathroom / toilet with a walk in shower and bathtub, and the room that is available and other rented room, and the top floor is my floor.
The house has relatively recently been repainted and renovated, with the bedrooms (and landing and stairs) getting carpeted a few years ago and the kitchen also being done, as well as other bits of work. We are also planning to use the time in-between the move out to freshen up the house and add some wallpaper to the downstairs and other stuff.
About the room:
The rooms are all exactly the same size and are fair sized doubles with ample room for a bed and other amenities such as a desk and wardrobe, or whatever you fancy. The room available is the middle floor front room. It's south facing so you get the sun and has a little balcony area and views over Bristol as you can see in the photos.
About the bills:
Council tax band is B and bills will come to basically £150. Will be getting a new fixed term energy contract for sep, so can be more specific when that's happened.
Moving in date:
Move in date would be some time in early to mid September but can be fairly flexible on the day.
About us:
Me and Alex are two blokes in their early to late 30s. I work in data currently, and enjoy staying active, do a lot of swimming, and am fairly social and out and about sometimes, but also value my own chill time space and love to unwind solo or in small group settings.
Alex is a music teacher / musician, that you can find jamming at his hands studio in bath, with his pupils at the end of term doing a school rock style performance, making music / playing Baldurs gate with his homies online untill the wee hours. He very easy going and nice chill guy. But Im not going to say anything else positive about him least he sees this and its goes to his head.
We are both generally pretty chilled easy going guys that are a bit nerdy, like chilling watching TV and having some banter, but also like going out sometimes to gigs, and I go to Festivals and love camping in nature etc.
I used to be a bit of a partier, more accurately sesh gremlin, in my younger years, and do rarely like the occasionally light blow out. However, definitely not on that vibe anymore so not rly looking for anyone who's fully into that.
We are are both pretty clean, and share in cleaning duties and helping keeping the house and shared spaces fresh as well costs for shared commodities etc. and we have never actually used or needed a cleaning a rota, but I dunno maybe would be a good idea when we are down to three? You tell me haha.
What we are looking for in a housemate:
Someone that is easy to get on with and chill with whenever the mood is right, but also has their own life friends and respects people's space when they need. Me and Alex do hang out watching TV and do stuff together but we also are born quite busy and have our own independent lives and groups, so we are looking for someone who's similar, and can dip in and out accordingly, ss well can help organise clean and general maintaining the house when need. Sense of humour is very important, cause otherwise we would all just be doomscrolling crying and eating beans in this economy, actually we do that anyway... but you get the point. And if you like to garden! Thats a plus, as we wanna make the garden more pretty and plant some cool things.
It would also be cool to have someone to occasionally watch a Series/films/ sports with, although this can be tricky to arrange sometimes. We both love the Mandalorian and Wimbledon.
Also ideally looking for someone minium of 23, but ideally late 20s to mid 30s just so we would be on the similar wavelength in terms of lifestyle.
I should also add I am the son of the landlords. So not quite a live in landlord but sort of.
You also must be alright with cats as mine and my girlfriend’s two, not so little, Ragdolls spilt their time between hers and here. They are very fluffy and friendly, if a little confused most of the time .
So if you like the look of the house and room, and think you could tolerate living with us, please drop me a message and I'll do my best to try get back to you promptly.
Cheers.
